We all function in our life activities with various emotions. Some bring solutions, some cause difficulties. All emotions, can in most instances be readily changed if one is willing to change.

Emotions wear hats of many colors and flavors.
Certain emotions cause stress.
Stress causes numerous difficulties within ones body.

Depending on the hat worn, one can be in a functional state, or dysfunctional one.
Eliminate the good or bad, the right or wrong of judgements that create inner disharmony. From a spiritual point of view, using the words  'functional and dysfunctional' alters the nuances of certain words, as previously understood, into a whole new ball game of 'thinking'.  Equally important is how ones health could benefit.

Mentioned in other topics here in the forum, are inner 'filters' that were accumulated through various childhood experiences. Those childhood filters, plus those put into place since those early days, are in constant play, whether you are consciously 'thinking a thought or not'.

What you eat, drink and think, affect the whole body.

So now in the instances, where I need to correct a thought statement, as a 'poor' choice of thought words, I just apply 'functional or dysfunctional' in their stead.

Where are we headed here!

What one eats, drinks and thinks, affects and influences all of these areas:
.........................................................
(Hormones)
Oxytocin        Hypothalamus
Antidiuretic Hormone hypothalamus
Thyrotropin Anterior Pituitary
Adrenocorticotropin Anterior Pituitary
Luteinizing Hormone Anterior Pituitary
Follicle Stimulating Hormone Anterior Pituitary
Growth Hormone Anterior Pituitary
Prolactin Anterior Pituitary
Melanocyte-Stimulating Hormone Anterior Pituitary
Thyroxine Thyroid
Calcitonin Thyroid
Parathyroid Hormone Parathyroid
Thymosins Thymus
Insulin Pancreas
Glucagon Pancreas
Somatostatin Pancreas
Epinephrine Adrenal Medulla
Norepinephrine Adrenal Medulla
Glucocorticoids (Cortisol) Adrenal Cortex
Mineralocorticoids (Aldosterone) Adrenal Cortex
Gastrin Stomach Lining
Secretin Lining of Small Intestine
Cholecystokinin Lining of Small Intestine
Enterogastrone Lining of Small Intestine
Melatonin Pineal Gland
Estrogens (Estradiol) Ovaries
Progesterone Ovaries
Androgens (testosterone) Testes
Prostaglandins Many Tissues (Secreting Prostaglandins)
Atrial Natriuretic Hormone Heart
Vitamin D (cholecalciferol) Skin
Thyrotropin-Releasing Hormone (TRH) Hypothalamus
Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone (GnRH) Hypothalamus
Prolactin Releasing-Inhibiting Hormone (Dopamine) Hypothalamus
Growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) Hypothalamus
Corticotropin-releasing hormone (CRH) Hypothalamus
......................................................................
Now all that I write here, is of course only my opinion.
But do give it a thought for how it registers with you.
Bypassing all the deeply rooted (or most of them) negative childhood filters, by using the terms 'functional and dysfunctional' to address the good, bad, right, and wrong of ones actions and thinking, would I believe, and over time, go a long way to reestablishing harmony within ones body.
And of course more could be said, but will let it rest for now.
Be Well

Although a majority of the hormones and compounds you have listed there are definitely active in those areas adjacent, they are also more widely active in all of the cells of the body. This is where my understanding of neuroscience gets shaky, as does the rest of the world Without exorbitant amounts of money ie: those who print it. The hormones and neurotransmitters also can have different effects in one cell than another, sometimes even the opposite effect. When it comes down to it, our cells and dna have it down to a T but our minds will probably never be able to catch up with the instinctive memory our bodies have/represent/possibly contain. That is why a lot of our subconscious cues are based off of what we eat. Again, everything is just too wide of a scale to take everything into account until our 'processor' speeds are much improved over what they are now (still ridiculously high). In short, this is where I the lazy scientist have thrown up my hands in awe and said, "So That's why people believe in God".

Our emotions are both a byproduct and cause of the chemical reactions that occur in us, however the degree of which either affects depend on the emotions and chemicals involved. Sorta like the idea that the firing of our neurons and the function of our bodies are a byproduct of our 'souls' influence on our body, or our body influences our 'soul'. When it comes down to it, I believe it is a very convoluted mixture of the two. By soul, I mean the stuff that we can (electromagnetic & chemical) and cant measure (will power) that affects everything around us.
