I want to know how/where to begin. I am ultimately bored and unsatisfied with "worldly" living. I don't care about the "good life" people talk about - get a good job, make good money, nice car/house - retire. It just doesn't matter to me. In fact, most things are decreasing in value to me. I used to want to pursue a degree in philosophy - halfway through I'm not so sure anymore. I just don't care. I was thinking I want to study music because I love listening to music (especially jazz) and I enjoy playing the drums but, am I "passionate" about it? I don't know. I don't feel a burning drive for it like I used to.
I want to expand my consciousness but I hardly put any effort into that either.
So, now what I ask? I know evolution is the process but how do I do it? I record my dreams in a dream journal - which by the way, my day to day living is disintegrating into but a mere dream anymore - and I usually remember several a night although not always clear in detail (I have a challenge in remembering words spoken in my dreams/dialogue).
Am I supposed to carve an hour out of my day to just sit and meditate? Do I practice dream yoga? I was reading that the only way to become enlightened is to remain completely conscious and remain with unwavering awareness. Dream yoga is the path. You cannot be enlightened unless you can lucid dream and remain aware during the day and during the night so that the dream world completely connects and integrates with the day (if I explained that clearly).
Where do I go from here? How to prepare for the transition? Any help, advice, wisdom?

Hi Gretch87 and All,
You have a bunch of 'lights' going, good. You've reached a point in life, where 'regrouping' of energies and focus is required. Just stir the mix and inhale the fresh new air.
A little Talker story.
One can't begin going anywhere, except 'from' where they are. So 'where' are you! Well lets see, bored, unsatisfied with worldly things, not interested in mundane but normal aspects we all face, things are decreasing in value, half way through a learning process, plays drums with some degree of pleasure, entertains ideas regards expanded consciousness lackadaisically, wants to evolve but unaware of how to do it, night dreams and day dreams are almost the same way in nature, which practice of gaining enlightenment should be followed!
Well lets see now, Hmm, 'some, a part of , or even all' of those things are, in some way,
shape or form, faced by practically everyone.
It's called life's 'learning curve'.
It's also called lack of focus, due to overload.
Happens to many, due to overload of gaining 'Life' credits, something like college, where one took on to many course hours at one time.
So step by step one needs to find out how to rectify those 'seemingly' dull outlook aspects. Now, don't for a minute think or believe it's hopeless. You were frank enough to admit dissatisfaction with how your life is progressing. That awareness is a wake-up call for you.
Regain your focus by correcting conditions one by one to start.
From my point of view 'Enlightenment', is a much misunderstood word. Every step along ones life path, where 'new' knowledge' is gained, is 'Enlightenment. You for instance, play the drums, I don't, so you are an 'Enlightened' drum player. Come on now, gracefully accept it here and with all your other fantastic 'Enlightenment's'. When all these wonderful little 'Enlightenment's' come together, 'POW', one sees the whole picture, called 'Enlightenment'. I doubt that anyone could be a recipient of 'Enlightenment' without all those little fantastic 'Enlightenment's'.
More could have been said here, but Laura and Julia have covered it quite well.
So get to my blog and read the tale written there. Determine what your 'belief' factors are.
You can't 'arrive' where you want to be, until you know 'where' you wanted to be.
Couple of books you might want to read:
Choose To Believe, by Alan Tutt. ISBN 978-0-9796726-4-4
Secret of the Ages , by Robert Collier, ISBN-10: 1604591889 , ISBN-13: 978-1604591880
Both are available at Amazon.com
Secret of the Ages was my first wake-up call to my reality decades ago.
Choose To Believe is more recent, and 'really gets one to find out just what their basic core beliefs are'.
Be Well
