I want to know how/where to begin.  I am ultimately bored and unsatisfied with "worldly" living.  I don't care about the "good life" people talk about - get a good job, make good money, nice car/house - retire.  It just doesn't matter to me.  In fact, most things are decreasing in value to me.  I used to want to pursue a degree in philosophy - halfway through I'm not so sure anymore.  I just don't care.  I was thinking I want to study music because I love listening to music (especially jazz) and I enjoy playing the drums but, am I "passionate" about it?  I don't know.  I don't feel a burning drive for it like I used to.
I want to expand my consciousness but I hardly put any effort into that either.

So, now what I ask?  I know evolution is the process but how do I do it?  I record my dreams in a dream journal - which by the way, my day to day living is disintegrating into but a mere dream anymore -  and I usually remember several a night although not always clear in detail (I have a challenge in remembering words spoken in my dreams/dialogue).

Am I supposed to carve an hour out of my day to just sit and meditate?  Do I practice dream yoga?  I was reading that the only way to become enlightened is to remain completely conscious and remain with unwavering awareness.  Dream yoga is the path.  You cannot be enlightened unless you can lucid dream and remain aware during the day and during the night so that the dream world completely connects and integrates with the day (if I explained that clearly).

Where do I go from here?  How to prepare for the transition?  Any help, advice, wisdom?

Julia - what are you saying to me lol.  Your post are hard to figure out sometimes - to us less wiser souls anyhow.  But, if I do understand you, then I am where I need to be then eh?  Then why does it feel "awkward" or confusing?  Am I not used to it?  Am I still clinging to past delusions or desires?

Hello Justin,

I understand what you say here. It happens when we start to see that the fabric we know is only part of the great vastness of what we truly are.

It can be a confusing and disconcerting place to be. After all you are in a space with no map. Uncharted territory that doesn't even exist until you make it into being.
There are no landmarks, it's your own and of your own making. Lack of direction is what it is at this time - Julia is telling you that is normal. Smiley That's all. But I hear you. It can be so overwhelming that it feels more like not doing anything at all. Indeed more or less we are working hard on creating more illusions (pursuing a career, something else, being passionate about anything at all..)

Smiley Now I suppose it all comes down to how strong you are and how can you manage to function in both places: spirit world and physical. If you walk down the street and meet the first homeless you will get an inkling on where the inability to cope with this shift will get you. Well.. many have been there actually: Neale Donald Walsh, Eckhard Tole.. and others so, even about that there's no opinion to be formed, direction to be advised to follow. Again, Julia, is telling you to 'just be' .. you shall find out what all shall come to - as while you may think nothing is happening - actually a LOT is happening behind the scenes.

I remember a line from the apocryphe scriptures: "Why try you so hard?" - which doesn't mean you should give up .. it just means 'let yourSelf find its way' with ease...

So, you see I for one (and neither Julia) can't give you any directions, those you will have to find yourself.
Just one piece of advice, don't let your self and your thinking pattern get into a desperate, depressive mood - when that happens do anything to get yourself out. Switch your thought. I don't know how strong your belief in God is .. that always helps... thinking about tapping into the greater power and being firm convinced that with it you shall ride that out.

The transition .. you are in it! you've been preparing yourself for it since before you were born - trust this. Is happening as we speak. Being here in this Forum is just a symptom of its existence.

Make your inner dialogue quiet and give grateful thanks for your joy. Next you know it - you shall be in the joy zone. In there's your direction...

Remember that "your" enlightenment is yours, dream yoga was someones for sure - is it yours? Perhaps. Perhaps not. Does it give you joy?

Hi Gretch87  and All,
You have a bunch of 'lights' going, good. You've reached a point in life, where  'regrouping' of energies and focus is required. Just stir the mix and inhale the fresh new air.

A little Talker story.
One can't begin going anywhere, except 'from' where they are. So 'where' are you! Well lets see, bored, unsatisfied with worldly things, not interested in mundane but normal aspects we all face, things are decreasing in value, half way through a learning process, plays drums with some degree of pleasure, entertains ideas regards expanded consciousness lackadaisically, wants to evolve but unaware of how to do it,  night dreams and day dreams are almost the same way in nature, which practice of gaining enlightenment should be followed!

Well lets see now, Hmm, 'some, a part of , or even all' of those things are, in some way,
shape or form, faced by practically everyone.

It's called life's 'learning curve'.

It's also called lack of focus, due to overload.

Happens to many, due to overload of gaining 'Life' credits, something like college, where one took on to many course hours at one time.

So step by step one needs to find out how to rectify those 'seemingly'  dull outlook aspects. Now, don't for a minute think or believe it's hopeless. You were frank enough to admit dissatisfaction with how your life is progressing.  That awareness is a wake-up call for you.
Regain your focus by correcting conditions one by one to start.

From my point of view 'Enlightenment', is a much misunderstood word. Every step along ones life path, where 'new' knowledge' is gained, is 'Enlightenment. You for instance, play the drums, I don't, so you are an 'Enlightened' drum player. Come on now, gracefully accept it here and with all your other fantastic 'Enlightenment's'. When all these wonderful little 'Enlightenment's' come together, 'POW', one sees the whole picture, called 'Enlightenment'. I doubt that anyone could be a recipient of 'Enlightenment' without all those little fantastic 'Enlightenment's'.

More could have been said here, but Laura and Julia have covered it quite well.

So get to my blog and read the tale written there. Determine what your 'belief' factors are.
You can't 'arrive' where you want to be, until you know 'where' you wanted to be.

Couple of books you might want to read:

Choose To Believe, by Alan Tutt. ISBN 978-0-9796726-4-4
Secret of the Ages , by   Robert Collier, ISBN-10: 1604591889 ,  ISBN-13: 978-1604591880

Both are available at Amazon.com
Secret of the Ages was my first wake-up call to my reality decades ago.
Choose To Believe is more recent, and 'really gets one to find out just what their basic core beliefs are'.

Hi Justin, wonderful vibes in seeing you here ... smiley

What I am saying to you is ... just read through it and let it go, real seed takes root, empty seeds 'disappear' or don't root ...

Something in this breathed life into an idea that is yet to be formed or defined ... however it is known within you ...

Let my thoughts ride for now ...

But everything you said makes sense to me.  I have to find my own way.

I understand what you mean Julia - we are "all" unique.  Only one of each of us comes along.  Therefore, we all have a different way of being that is unique to each of us.

Once again, thanks for the comments.  I knew the spiritual path was going to be one taken alone (although not exactly lonely, but in solitude) but well worth it.

Dear Justin,

No, as a matter of fact we are never alone, just that "The Matrix cannot tell you what you are". That you have to find alone.

Beloved Talker here gave you the important clues, keep on it!! keep knocking. Keep searching, trying on different paths - one day one will beckon to you. Or perhaps as in my case - you would like to know about all of them to some extent, and make up your mind as where/how your "unique" yours should be.

One can't begin going anywhere, except 'from' where they are.

True!!
Yet there is a 'void' that one reaches where they are - and from there you simply cannot go any place as the horizons feel closed, as in "what now" .. feeling like a dead-end.

There is no focus in here because that on which you need to focus on is beyond your sphere of being (for now).

(((What you can focus on, on physical plane are these: what Talker told you about rewadings, things other people have gone through, books, spiritual practices, Adrian's chakra program Smiley , and things as such. )))

This place can only be crossed through transcendence.

And it looks as you have reached your first one, or at least the first one you have become painfully aware of.
What helps now is sharpening your senses and becoming fully aware of 'what's going on with you' instead or opposed to what you are going through...
This is the perfect time to become your own 'observer'. The payoff is tremendous if you can bring yourself to do that.

Transcendence in itself is becoming gradually aware of your own transformation...as in slowly stepping away from your old self and embracing more and more your eternal one.

Observing yourself may go like so for instance: - you go on a path from many presented in front of you (books, meditations, reflections, practice etc) - and become aware on how your Self responds to it;  which triggers, trigger what in you.

I say you are in a very lucky place indeed - and is a great reason for celebration. Smiley The trick is to step out of the 'child in need for comfort skin' and become more at large into your next energetic body.

Remember you are never alone. Help is at hand the moment you ask for it.

Smiley

Oh, Justin,

There's something else I forgot to mention - the lack of direction, focus, overwhelming etc.. also comes from the fast and accelerating change that is occurring as we speak. It can really take a toll on those embarked on evolutionary path. Being aware of this is enough.

and also this might help:

How to Spot when your Chakras are Closed
When your choices are limited, your Chakras are said to be closed. The more choices you have, the more open they are. Your Chakras are closed when:

•You feel stuck - it seems like the only choices are ones you don't want to make.
•You don't know what to do - you don't know what the possible choices will lead to.
•You are unable to do anything at all - it seems like you literally have no choices available.

This happens when we make so many limiting choices that we cut off almost all of our possible options.

(I think I got this from here: http://www.tapping.com/ )

Yes.  But, how exactly is that done?  I realize now that that is what needs to be done.
