To achieve better results in having an obe or to astrally project,is it any more effective by avoiding Alchohol and Caffiene so as to make the Mind have more clarity of thought and willpower?

I am just realising that taking alchohol and caffiene previously had a hold on me,not in a serious way but as I begin to improve my meditations I am becoming more aware of the need to self develope.

I have better meditations if I drink coffee just before meditating, because my concentration improves.

It  is scientifically proven that too much intake of caffiene and alcohol raises blood pressure.I have high blood pressure called Hypertension.I have to take blood pressure tablets every evening,so I am only finding a way of improving my health.As meditation is known to lower blood pressure,by staying away from these stimulants it will help me to meditate much better.
It is on a personal basis for everyone I suppose as one mans meat is another mans poisin so to speak.
