Quote from Julia: [I understand the being bitter, it left me very dry and parched. It was at this point in my life 18 years ago, that I realized I couldn't keep on the way I had been going. I really needed a lot of water to flush it out. So, in asking for assistance, as I look back from where I was to where I am now, my well had to be emptied of the bitter water. I really had to allow the releasing of the bitter thoughts to make room for the fresh, pure water that came pouring in from various resources. What began to arrive were 'new' thought books and a very special perpetual calendar. I asked myself when opening the calendar for the first time, "I wonder how much I will change by reading this everyday, year after year." I learn everyday and I will say that I threw out old journals as I truly didn't recognize the one who had written them many years ago! My life too is seen from new eyes (I).]
Hi Julia,
I like the "poisoned well" analogy. For a long time I tried to change my life without much success, but later I figured out that I was trying to pour the pure water into a well that still had bitter water in it. That only served to poison the new water. I definitely had to begin "an extreme mental makeover". Every day I read from people like Adrian Cooper who emphasize the whole business of creating your world by the way you think. Meditating has also helped me not to dwell on negativity and to get in tune with a Universe that is much bigger and better than I ever imagined. I've used perpetual calendars too. That is a good way to have some food for thought for the day. Sometimes it's helpful just a have a single good idea to ponder all day long rather than to bombard the mind with several different thoughts (no matter how good they are!)
Blessings, DH

Good Morning DH, Thank you for sharing! While I know everything happens for a reason, Adrian wasn't available yet, so you are blessed to have been introduced to an accelerated teacher! One of the first things that came to me was a book that 3 different people in my life who did not know each other but knew me and suggested I read, "The Artist's Way" by Julia Cameron. I opened the book in a very dark time and what my eyes fell upon was "Leap and the Net will Appear." I now have this 'saying' on my kitchen window altar as a daily reminder along with my perpetual calendar. I have stronger legs as a result!! Single thoughts were what remedied the monkey chatter going on!! That and the willingness to be in solitude while journaling. Blessings and Be well, Julia

Hi Julia, Ah yes, I know Julia's book. Good direction on expanding creativity! The whole bit about "leap and the net will appear" is emphasized by many spiritual teachers in one way or another. It's all about trusting in the power of the Universe [or God if you will] to bless those who take the risk of faith. I grew up in a Christian tradition that taught me the value of faith. Jesus is the one who said, "Have faith in God, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it and it will be yours." That's the principle behind what so many teach about creating reality and manifesting your world. Doubt is a spiritual killer -- it will jerk the net out from underneath us if we are not careful. That's why I focus on the happy thoughts as much as possible. Blessings, DH

Hi DH, Children are taking naps and I have a moment to respond... Yes, it is about trusting that all of our experiences are valid and important in the growing into of who we are continually realizing we are. Another book I have as a 'keeper' is "Women Who Run With the Wolves" by Clarissa Pinkola Estes. Not a quick read but a lot of spiritual food in that one regarding the transformation from Ego to Higher Self based on studying nature's Divine design. I was drawn to it as I was invited to become a student of nature at 19, by Divine Invitation and it related so much to how I was 'taught' by an unseen hand. I find it is equally beneficial for all genders. "A Course in Miracles", well I am always a student of a never ending process! Life is never boring from my point of view!! IT's magickal ... ~ I also am from a traditional Christian background. While my parents played church (as did most), my grandmother invented it!! You just couldn't please that woman. Which is why I did some of the things I did to get a rise out her. I did and do love my grandmother, I realize now that she always strived to be pleasing to her God and didn't see that she already was. I have benefited from observing her experiences as well as everyone who has crossed my path and continues to do so... I am finding the blessings in the lessons, not knocks from rocks. Receiving my portion and not so much 'worried' about anothers if's and's or but's ... Saying Yes to life is so much more joyful and fun ~ I AM ... Blessings and wellness BE, Julia

Hi Julia,
I appreciate all of your responses.
Quote: Children are taking naps and I have a moment to respond.
Wow that brings back a lot of memories!
"A Course in Miracles" is one of my favorites too. I refer to it often. I've studied a lot about shamanism and have been utilizing some practices of core shamamism. I like Tom Cowan's books. They come from a Celtic slant but cover a wide range of ideas. Shamanism has helped me to appreciate our oneness with all of creation. There is a lot of interaction with nature and animal and their spirits and seeing the world through their eyes.
Your grandmother reminds me of so many I have known. It amazes me how a religion of grace has turned into a religion of works. My mother was like that too -- a wonderful lady who tried hard to love everyone so that God would accept her. She never could get the idea the God accepted her anyway -- good works or not.
I agree with you, certainly everything that happens each day has a lesson in it. It took me awhile to understand that even something really bad was the cover for some kind of blessing. Life is strange but good.
Wow, we are getting way off topic here......
Have a great day, DH

In gardening mode here ~ After weeding some of my growing beds, I found things that seemed to have disappeared ~ hmm... So, holding the idea that they were gone, I dug deeper and uncovered more in my garden ... they were there all the time, just covered over ... This thread bears reaping from it the depths you are willing to dig for ... the fruit ... of IT ... it's here ~
