Melody please don't refer to God as cheese.

I'm trying to understand. Is it because the Buddha has a following. It has nothing to do with how good you are right but why does having faith in Jesus save you. I don't understand the logic in it and I operate on logic.

Julia are you saying having to much money is a sin? If I win the lottery then I can't get to Heaven even if I am a good Christian? Heaven is impossible to obtain.

Wave,

I am pleased you made this comment that God should not be referred to as the head cheese, how they refer to the top boss in a business situation. It might even be blasphemous on my past and I deeply apologize to God and all the divine hierarchy. What this shows - you are much more advanced in understanding the concept of who God is than you might even realize. It also means you understand much better than the majority of the people of the overall power of God, that he is really all mighty and we cannot go against his Divine order and should submit to his will, to live within the frame of his will and design for all and everybody, and that we should venerate Him and speak of him only in reverential terms.

I used the term because many people are not comfortable with the Bible and the Bible quotations. My terminology was for such people. Although I did not feel comfortable myself in using it, this was simply to demonstrate to others in this forum, using the everyday terms and expressions within this world's power structures, that God is really sovereign and all mighty, that he is the creator and the owner of all there is and that what he says and decrease goes, and that everything there is functions according to his rules, and not ones Self, the regular Self or the higher one. The Self does not matter and cannot tell the God how to function and what to do, and imagine things are otherwise than what God had recreated.

Yes, God does not operate in business term of buy and sell and making profit, but he functions in moral and divine terms, and he wants everybody to function in those moral and divine terms, and nothing else is acceptable to him. Because his terms are regularly broken and not adhered to, the goodness of the fabric of the world he created is braking and will start tearring apart, leading to personal and grand disasters. There is a strong possibility that we ourselves in our lifetime might be the witnesses of such tremendous disasters as never seen in our world before.

Yet, what you said: "Some Mediterranean that has holes in him. Sorry but it's hard to worship a guy like that", is not less blasphemous as me referring to God as big cheese, and in addition it does not make any point for people to understand the God's grand design, as what I attempted, though it looks like quite clumsily.

Yes, the Mediterranean guy with holes in him... Is not that amazing that such a simple person, as he appeared from the outside, in such a regular human body and circumstances, by accepting those holes in his body was able to repay the sins of those who will come to him and accept him, and who will begin to do Father's will as he has done. This is the act of the greatest spitritual alchemy that ever happened in this world, though theologically they call it a mystery, rather than alchemy. And yet not many people realize what had actually taken place, what Jesus did, and do not, because of their own Ego Selves give at least Jesus credit for what he has done.

So what do you want to worship? somebody's good looks? somebody you did not even know and who propagates throughout this world music with bad vibes? That's sad...

Why don't you rather choose to worship the Son of God who was able to perform the most magnificent act of spiritual transformation possible for those who are willing and come to Him.

Oh God I am going straight to Hell.

Consider what you are saying here. This is not funny Louis. It's sad because it reveals that you don't really understand what you are saying here. Jesus spoke more about hell than heaven and if you read the scriptures, you would see this for yourself.

Julia are you saying having to much money is a sin? If I win the lottery then I can't get to Heaven even if I am a good Christian? Heaven is impossible to obtain.

You don't understand what the scriptures are saying Louis. There were many people in the Bible who had abundance of material goods.

So, what is the difference in what Jesus was saying?

Jesus looked at him and loved him. “One thing you lack,” he said. “Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

It was an issue of trust. Who or what are you going to place your trust in for being the sustaining factor in your life?

Money makes itself wings, so, one minute you could be rolling in the dough, the next, begging for food from your neighbor's table...

Money is fickle and fleeting, a now you see it, now you don't material.

God is eternal. The whole entire Bible is about having a living and active relationship with God out of personal choice. Not by force.

And God is all knowing, He lives before the beginning of time, because time began when the universe was created into being by His spoken word, and He can see the whole of everything since He is before the beginning of all things created, both the heavens and the earth.

So God created man already knowing that man would reject Him after the cunning one turned man's focus away from God's being his source of life and sustenance and towards seeking his own will and seeking his own way to sustain himself, yet, God knew there would be some who would be willing to have a relationship with Him their Creator. And He obviously felt it was worth it, or none of us or this would be happening.

To these ones who would be willing, He gave His Spirit to them, to be able to walk with Him in a world that was anti God.

He even gave us the history of mankind by coming upon 44 different people to write over a 1,500 year period from 3 different continents, His message to mankind, and we still deny it and seek any other way which reveals our current condition in this modern day, just as He said it would be.

And many people do not read the Bible, yet are following what it says in ignorance. God cannot lie.

No other way says what the Bible says. And that so many on this earth are being led astray in great masses and numbers is heart breaking once your eyes have been opened to seeing it for what it is.

My heart is greatly saddened by your flippant attitude here Louis, because you really do not understand the nature of the spiritual battle going on for the souls of mankind in this moment, and this includes yours.

And here is a scripture that puts all this into perspective, for those who are really wanting truth and not looking for any other way to avoid God;

'Who has understood the mind of the LORD, or instructed him as his counselor? Whom did the LORD consult to enlighten him, and who taught him the right way? Who was it that taught him knowledge or showed him the path of understanding?'  Isaiah 40:13-14

This is God speaking to us and where else will you find such personal questions being asked of each one of us individually?

Where are you placing your utmost trust? Man's way of sustenance which is money or mammon, or in God, who rains manna from Heaven?

The answer to this question will reveal what your perspective of life is, and is the basis of which you live life from. In Truth.

Trust in God, Who is the Eternal Source of Life and Living, and not in man's ways who is perishing with the using of temporal things.

To Melody,

I am having a hard time understanding. God's power is it over everything or do we have free will? It can't be both. Either our thoughts, feelings, beliefs and desires are our own or they are what God gave us. If God gave them to us then God is behind sin in the first place. I also have a hard time understand if God is good or evil.

The reason I am Christian is because my idol is christian. He's so perfect. I also wanted to know if Christianity helps people "behave". I am disgusted with how people are behaving now in days. So I wanted to learn about the Bible to know if it helps the people or if I should write a different book to teach people how to behave. I went back to my old Church and the people there are very nice to me! God knows what's best for us and we need to get back to those Conservative values. The question is did we take ourselves away from those values or did God take us away from them?

Julia was Jesus saying that the rich man loved his money for the Jesus? He went to Jesus after all! Or is it that he relied on himself instead of relying on Jesus?

Melody help me out here. Why is Christianity the truth and not all the other beliefs? What is it about Christianity that I can point to as evidence that Jesus is the way?

Wave,

Rest assured without any doubt that God is good. But this is not an all compassing description of God. He is not only good, but he is Divine, and Moral and Just, and Loving and totally Harmonious. The problem is with us, not with God.

The original plan of God was that all his creation and beings will live in total harmony and goodness and total morality and all encompassing Love. Yet, being a just God, he could not force this plan down the  throat of everybody he created. It is for all created beings to decide if this is what they want. They have to choose without any background doubt that this is what they want. They have to choose divinity, morality, love and harmony.

Since the times of the original fall away from God’s perfect plan, this Earth has become the playground for people to choose. In his humility, God could not force his personal plan, his love and his vision on everybody. After all, he created autonomous and sovereign beings, and had to give them freedom to choose. He told all his creation about the plan he has for them, they have to make the choice for goodness, harmony, lover and total morality on their own. They all know if they do not make that choice they cannot exist in the place God has fashioned for his beings to exist – the harmonious, good, loving, and totally moral eternal existence.

A human being cannot and should not force his love on anybody else. And neither does God. Those who are not loving and are evil cause tremendous disturbance in God's creation, it is sinking under the weight of all the vile things which were done and are still being done.

So true Melody, the problem is with us and not with God.

Julia was Jesus saying that the rich man loved his money for the Jesus? He went to Jesus after all! Or is it that he relied on himself instead of relying on Jesus?

What is interesting about this young man and his encounter with Jesus, is that he spoke as though he knew what good means. And one thing Jesus did with every person He encountered is that He spoke truth to them in love. He did not leave them to go out on their own and 'figure' it out, He told them exactly what was keeping them from relationship with Him, as the express image of The Father.

The young man assumed he knew what it meant to be a good 'enough' for the Kingdom of Heaven (eternal life) based upon his own merits of 'good behavior'. Jesus removed this idea from him (what he was standing on) by asking him, 'Why do you call me good? Only God is good.' Some think this means that Jesus was denying Himself to be God. But look again, because Jesus immediately tells the young man what he is 'missing' because He being God knows what good is, and Jesus reveals to this man and all of us, unlike the standard we hold in our own minds, that even missing just one thing, doesn't meet God's criteria.

Jesus doesn't tell the man to not worry about it because he will have many lifetimes to get it right, he doesn't shrug his shoulders and say, 'I don't know, only God knows', Jesus doesn't tell this young man his question is of no significance, or of any consequence because when he dies, he will just meld together with the One.

He told him specifically what was keeping him from having the assurance of eternal life.

The young man relied on his 'status' of what his riches brought him. His riches defined who he was in the eyes of man, and he didn't want to give up the praise of mankind for being known as a rich man, with all its perks, to turn away from it all and walk with God. He trusted more in his validation of who he was coming from his 'on loan' props then from what God said about who he was, and Jesus spoke straight to him regarding the heart of the matter of what was keeping him from being able to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven, receiving eternal life.

Telling this young man outright what was keeping him away from God.

His Pride. Too proud to admit that Jesus was right, so he walked away and kept his one sin, of prefering to maintain his 'reputation amongst men', to be seen as godly according to the opinions of man and not seeking the approval of God as Jesus had just shared with him, and he decided to take his chances on his own idea of being good enough. His riches were in his mind and heart the supply of his living and lifestyle (his hidden source of what his faith was really dependent upon) and being willing to remain in his ignorance to what kept him from a relationship with God.

He confused the source of his life as coming from his money. Revealing who his real god was.

Money was his idol, his god.

Therefore, he fell short in fulfilling all the Commandments of God, 100%. And he just told Jesus that he had kept them from his youth.

The difference with Jesus apart from all other 'glorified' men who were ordained by men just like themselves is, that Jesus is the only one who offers forgiveness of sins in order to be able to live with Him, as The Creator of all of us for all eternity. None other offers this. None.

No one else makes the claims that Jesus made about Himself. And as aspect said earlier, you would understand this if you would read the Bible for yourself. You have given much time to looking into other ways, are you willing to give some of your time to looking into what Jesus says for yourself?

No one else offers to anyone eternal security, which comes through faith of being forgiven, by grace (unearned) favor. Jesus teaches that we are only able to be made righteous by the purchase of God's own shed blood. All other beliefs teach you must earn righteousness, as in karmic debt paid through many many many lifetimes of reincarnation.

And how many lifetimes does it really take? No one really knows. In fact, no one really knows if anyone, even Buddha, really attained nirvana, because Buddha is still buried in his grave and never came back to tell anyone. The Bible does say that there are deceiving spirits who will appear as angels of light yet, if anyone preach another gospel, to turn away from them. Because all other teachings deny the Cross of Jesus Christ.

Jesus did not come to 'help us' become better people. He came to make us brand new creations. The old creation is passing away, and those who choose to remain a part of the old creation will pass away with it. Only those who have received God's gift of becoming a new creation in Christ will be able to enter into the presence of God, and this is Jesus' message. There is no other way He said. And He gave His life to prove it but it didn't end there.

Where is His body? Don't you think that those opposed to Jesus in His time would have been able to produce the body and thus put an end to Christianity before it ever got started and spread? And the fact that Jesus is the most controversial person who ever lived, gives evidence that He is Who He says He is?

But we prefer to believe someone like Buddha, while we speak of being 'enlightened'...

One thing I will say is that Jesus, is not someone we can ignore, even when so many are putting so much effort into proving that He isn't Who He said He is...He was very specific about the way to eternal life and He is the Entrance.

Read the Bible Louis for yourself. Let the Holy Spirit speak to you personally.

The Bible answers your questions, where other teachings can't.

Only Jesus ever claimed to be fully God and fully man, while He walked this earth, not after He rose from the grave...

After all, he created autonomous and sovereign beings, and had to give them freedom to choose.

So God is not in total control and power over everything that we do then? My pasture claims that God has power over everything. Then he contradicts himself by saying that we are the authors of sin not God.

And what of homosexuality. I know that it's not harmony to be homosexual. The Masculine energy must be balanced with the Feminine energy. But I can't help myself I like men better. I don't want to be gay but I also do not want to date the manly feminist women we have today. Cheating on their husbands and turning them into Cuckolds. Making them support them and other children. or making all the choices and ruling the house with a bad attitude. Everyone suffers. I also do not want to give my baldness genes on to my off spring. I believe in Eugenics! So I want to live a life that I don't want to live as me. This is very tough for me.

After all, he created autonomous and sovereign beings, and had to give them freedom to choose.

Yes, God created man with freewill to live within His created boundaries. When we speak of freewill, it is really has to do with our concern over who has control over our eternal destination.

It starts with an understanding of our nature, our will's are bound by our nature, as it is our nature that directs what we will.

So God is not in total control and power over everything that we do then? My pasture claims that God has power over everything. Then he contradicts himself by saying that we are the authors of sin not God.

Just like the law of gravity, we have freewill to walk about anywhere we want on the rooftop of a 30 story building and enjoy being alive, as long as we are constrained by the boundaries of the four sides of the rooftop and go no further.

In the same way, we are constrained by the boundaries of our sinful nature, it is in our very cells (patterned after the original altering of man's once perfect nature, having been altered by his choice to sin), which this sin nature now permeates our bodies, our minds, and our wills. In our sinful nature, we are carnally (temporally) minded not spiritually minded. We are in bondage to sin.

The Bible explains this in Romans 8:6-7:

“For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace because the carnal mind is enmity against God, for it is not subject to the Law of God, neither indeed can it be”.

In our naturally fallen (sinful) state, we don't submit our wills to God, because we don't even seek after God, and we are against God and knowing what His Will is for us. It's in our very nature to be at war with God, and we don't have it in our fallen, sinful nature to choose to turn towards God nor to submit to His will. It's not a thought in our minds at all. We are incapable of choosing what is good and holy in God's eyes, or even choosing to have a relationship with God in our naturally sinful state.

So, while we say we have freewill, we really don't while we are still in bondage to our sin nature. We are slaves, held prisoner's to it. And like a prisoner, we can pace back and forth throughout our four walled cell as much as we like, yet we are held in bondage to the four walls of the prison cell. How free is that?

Jeremiah 17:9 says, "The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? "

The sinful nature is incurable, which is why Jesus' message is unique. He came to give us new life as new creations, not to 'restore' the old one. His resurrection, revealed His power to overcome death, as He said He would raise Himself up after 3 days, and He did. It's this power that He gives to all who come to Him and receive Him to be able to put the old sin nature down and pick up and walk in the new nature. You are not free until you have received the Way to freedom offered by Jesus Christ. And no other could offer this to their fellow man, as they were mere men also.

Only Jesus raised people from the dead. These people who had died, did not have the freewill nor the power to raise themself up from being dead, even Lazarus whose body was already decaying. But Jesus raised Lazarus up, and then Himself from the dead.

This is very tough for me.[/color]

You've given a perfect example of the fallen, sinful nature of mankind. Women as well as men are cheating on their spouses left and right. There's nothing sacred about marriage any longer. And look at how many 'spiritual' teacher's try to justify this by this saying things like man is not meant to be monogamous, etc...usually coming from a person who has a sexual addiction by the way.

The Bible does say that homosexuality is an abomination in the eyes of God. I myself have wondered at this as I have known many gay men who have been the most wonderful and loving friends.

God is a God of the living. And if two men had been created or two women, there would be no life on this planet right now! Just think about this for a moment. You nor I would be here writing or reading, we would not be a possibility, as procreation is not possible with same sex union.

Whatever a person's sexual preference is, the Bible is very clear about sexual immorality, and this includes all of mankind, whether gay or straight. And this is where I will call all to look carefully at this idea that we claim to have freewill. When it comes to sex, it's pretty obvious, that most of us do not have the freewill to turn it down and walk away, even flee from sexual temptations.

If this is true of you, then the next time you are faced with a temptation, may you remember this idea that you are not a free agent if you give into the tempation and this is because you have a sin nature as God said we do. And the way you justify your actions will reveal man's tendency to 'hide' behind his or her figleaf from God, and cast blame on someone else.

If you say, 'oh, it's a natural urge and impulse', then you are agreeing with God again. This is a natural impulse of the carnally minded soul, whose is in bondage to the urges of their fleshly nature, acting just like animals do, who have no control over their fleshly urges, souls without the Living Spirit of God empowering you to live by God's standards of holiness and purity, are not free at all...

Being slaves to their fleshly desires and appetites. Their very nature deciding their will to do these things according to what the Bible explains is the basis for all the ungodliness that is prevalent in these days that are continuing to grow darker as the hearts of mankind grow darker.

And God who is All knowing, is in control of the Heavens and the earth, having set the boundaries of what is acceptable to Him, as well as revealing to us what is necessary in being able to have relationship with Him. And we just don't like this in our current nature, so we have been very busy doing everything in our 'power' to erase any idea of there being a God at all. Just look at how many ways there are now, and how they all deny what is written in this one Book. As the article I shared above about the uniqueness of Christ says, all these other ways either deny the Cross of Christ or His Resurrection in His body.

Again, validating Jesus' words, first spoken of in Isaiah 35:8,

'And a highway will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness. The unclean will not journey on it; it will be for those who walk in that Way; wicked fools will not go about on it.'

and Jesus Himself saying, "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it." Matthew 7:13

And The Father says, we must meet the standards of Jesus Christ, who was tempted like we are, yet without sin, in order to have a place in His Heavenly Mansion, where no death nor impurity is allowed.

Grace means unearned. It's the way it was always meant to be. By Grace. Adam thought he could do it, be righteous of his own nature and leave God out of it, and well, here we all are. We are living in the end of the age days which actually began when Christ Jesus was born. We are much closer now than we were when Jesus was born and walked this earth the first time.

And God our all knowing Creator, that we do not have any ability in and of ourselves to set ourselves free from our sinful nature, due to it becoming ingrained and so is reproduced into our very cells being passed on since Adam fell, chose to become Jesus, God taking on form in human flesh, Who would come to destroy the old nature, by overcoming the end product of this defiled nature which is death, death and decay is anti God, and we can see people and animals and things decaying and dying all around us everyday as the evidence of sin entering this world.

This is why we will not be without excuse, because we see the evidence of God's Word all around us everyday.

Only Jesus can give us a new nature, because He rose from destroying the grips of death, which could not hold Him prisoner, and this is explained in Colossian 1:12-14:

..."and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light. For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins."

So, in conclusion, God does not send people to hell Louis. People send themselves there, due to refusing to accept the unearnable gift of God's Son, Jesus Christ, who came to redeem us. He came to buy us back, from the introducer of death into the original nature of the first Adam which has affected everything in all the creation which is passing away.

And since death was the outcome of the first Adam's choice, it would take a Life to buy back the deed sold under death.

Jesus paid the debt for all mankind, He was willing to buy back His Creation by paying the ransom, His Life by shedding His blood to cover the wages of sin, which is death.

And He had to be sinless, in order to do this.

Now, it's a matter of Who you are going to believe.

Those who don't believe Jesus was sinless, are people who are not and since they are not, they cannot believe anyone could be any different then they are.

And this is freewill?

Freewill is when you have been changed in your mind and your heart knows that you can choose, and this can only happen when you believe God has done what He says He has done.

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.”

No longer being of this world and God's Spirit dwelling in earthly jars of clay, our bodies, gives us the Breath of Life to be strong enough to leave this world behind for the New One by responding to Jesus when He says to you...

Then Come, and follow me.

Julia how do I get Jesus (Yeshua) as my savoir? I'm still not sure if I believe it enough!

Louis, the beauty of the Gospel is its simplicity.

"The jailer called for lights, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas. He then brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”

They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.”  Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all the others in his house. At that hour of the night the jailer took them and washed their wounds; then immediately he and all his household were baptized. The jailer brought them into his house and set a meal before them; he was filled with joy because he had come to believe in God—he and his whole household." Acts 16:29-34

A modern day true story;

A woman in California received a substantial speeding ticket and the day of her court appearance arrived. She stood before the Judge and when he asked what she was pleading, she replied, 'Guilty'.

The Judge then stood up, came around the bench and paid her fine for her by taking her place. He was her Father. She did not have to earn her father's favor, she had unearned favor with her Father, who paid the price for all her wrong doing. It was a gift without strings attached. Now she was set free to go and sin no more, to no longer break the law willingly as once before.

This represents Jesus to us all. Jesus is The Father who paid the debt, the fine for all our law breaking, all our wrong doing according to the Perfect Law of God required to live free and with The Father.

"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast." Ephesians 2:8-9

Until we understand that we are all, each and everyone law breakers, then Jesus giving His life for ours in paying our debt, then what He did for us will not mean anything to us.

This woman had to accept it in faith, that her debt was paid in full and she was now cleared of all her law breaking fines and having to do any time for breaking the law. She was free to go as a free woman because of her Father's willingness to pay the price for her. Otherwise, she would still be trying to 'clear her record' of her own accord through the way of the earthly system.

This is how all other spiritual ways says it is done. That we must do it our self in order to reach a state of sinless perfection. How can a being that is permeated by sin, create from a sinless state? It's impossible as Jesus said. But not with God.

Jesus was willing to pay all that we owe for breaking God's Law for us. Do you believe this Louis?

We must confess our sin first to God and then in faith receive His gift of grace in what Jesus accomplished for us through His death and resurrection. We must plead guilty to our offenses, admit we have broken God's Law, even just one little iota of it, otherwise we are just playing 'religion and church' to be seen of men. But God sees into the core of our being, our hearts.

And His Spirit will come in and guide you as your Comforter, Counselor and Guide to see to it that you reach the fullness of Christ in order to present you blameless before The Father when Jesus comes again.

Once you've accepted Jesus Christ, I encourage you to spend time every day making time to be alone with God, communing with Him through prayer and listening to His response, by reading His word. The Bible contains all we need to know, as God's guidance on how to make wise choices and decisions, how to know God's will, how to minister to others and how to grow spiritually.

While baptism does not save us, nor wash away our sins, it is a step of following Jesus' commands, to be baptized by water and the spirit, (representing our new birth) and He Himself allowed Himself to be baptized to show us by example that we are agreeing with God that the old man has died, and we are now raised up and walking in the new man's nature being filled with the Holy Spirit of God living in us. Breathing life into us as in Genesis before the fall.

Confess with your mouth that you are a sinner (a breaker of God's Holy Law) and in need of Jesus to pay your debt for you, and then ask Jesus to come into your heart and be Lord of your life so you can live in a manner pleasing to Him by His Holy Spirit coming into and living within you.

It's so simple that this is why it offends so many people. We really have no part in our own justification before God. And this is what sets Jesus and His message completely a part from all other ways. He does it all, we accept it and then choose to live for Him in love and appreciation, no longer serving our own desires of our flesh, but serving God out of our freewill to choose to live for God now, and to know the difference.

God Bless you Louis. I mean this with all my heart, soul and spirit. May the Holy Spirit be with you in Jesus name and guide you all the way to the end of the age.

He Who promised is faithful, Who will also do it.

Love in Jesus name,

Julia

One more question. I was told I have to die to myself to be saved. Does that mean I can't have any ambitions of my own? I'm a very passionate person and I have my own idea of how the world should be. For example I do not believe in this massive immigration because it's over loading our infrastructure. Do I have to give up such beliefs and feelings to be Christian?
