Author Topic: Mind or Unconditional Love?  (Read 4091 times)

What is a higher energy, that of Universal Mind or that of Unconditional Love that is of a heart, rather than of a mind.

A lot of people equate God with Unconditional Love, and say he is Love. Or is He Mind?

Is the Universe ruled by a Mind or by Unconditional Love as its highest principle?

   huh

It would be rather nice......

Anyone have some opinions?

I don't know what I think God is yet. Various sources say various things, and while lots of Adrian's book resonated with me personally, I haven't yet found the explanation of God and the whole mind vs love type situation that just..clicks.

Dear Werp,

I like this quote from the wisdom of Tao.

Quote

If you go searching for the Great Creator, you will come back empty-handed. The source of the universe is ultimately unknowable, a great invisible river flowing forever through a vast and fertile valley. Silent and uncreated, it creates all things.

From Bible:

Quote

God is eternal.
(Deuteronomy 33:27; Jeremiah 10:10; Psalm 90:2)

God is infinite.
(1 Kings 8:22-27; Jeremiah 23:24; Psalm 102:25-27; Revelation 22:13)

God is self-sufficient and self-existent.
(Exodus 3:13-14; Psalm 50:10-12; Colossians 1:16)

God is omnipresent (present everywhere).
(Psalm 139:7-12)

God is omnipotent (all powerful).
(Genesis 18:14; Luke 18:27; Revelation 19:6)

God is omniscient (all knowing).
(Psalm 139:2-6; Isaiah 40:13-14)

God is unchanging or immutable.
(Psalm 102:25-27; Hebrews 1:10-12; 13:Cool

God is sovereign.
(2 Samuel 7:22; Isaiah 46:9-11)

God is wise.
(Proverbs 3:19; Romans 16:26-27; 1 Timothy 1:17)

God is holy.
(Leviticus 19:2; 1 Peter 1:15)

God is righteous and just.
(Deuteronomy 32:4; Psalm 11:7; Psalm 119:137)

God is faithful.
(Deuteronomy 7:9; Psalm 89:1-8)

God is true and truth.
(Psalm 31:5; John 14:6; John 17:3; Titus 1:1-2)

God is good.
(Psalm 25:8; Psalm 34:8; Mark 10:18)

God is merciful.
(Deuteronomy 4:31; Psalm 103:8-17; Daniel 9:9; Hebrews 2:17)

God is gracious.
(Exodus 34:6; Psalm 103:8; 1 Peter 5:10)

God is love.
(John 3:16; Romans 5:8; 1 John 4:Cool

God is spirit.
(John 4:24)

God is light.
(James 1:17; 1 John 1:5)

God is triune or trinity.
(Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

Now ... question is what these souls described is it God? I believe everybody experiences God according to own make-up so best is to "seek and you shall find".

The Taoist doctrine is based upon moral relativism, in which there is no distinction between right and wrong.

Taoism is based upon principle and not a person.

This makes it difficult to blend these two ideas you share here together just from this fact alone. The Tao and The Bible do not share the same doctrine.

Rather than groping our way through the maze of man made thoughts and ideas, and making hard work of it, Jesus empowers us with liberty through an uncommon way, the Cross and His triumph over death. Only Jesus offers us hope beyond the grave. All others have not been able to offer us this hope because they are still in their graves.

'Do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your ways straight.' Proverbs 3:5-6

"And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him." Hebrews 11:6

We cannot seek nor find that which we do not believe exists.

Smiley My understanding is that all that exists in this manifested world does so through God's grace.

Blessed is the one who can see and get past any man made division - God doesn't separate he shines love, light and blessings on all equally, for all are God's creation.

Julia my darling one day we have to make a decision if to look only for the good in everything or to look for that which rejects everything else that doesn't go along with a set doctrine.

"Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears." ~ 1 Corinthian 13

Humanity has come to a pivotal turn where LOVE needs to supersede all dogma and religious tradition - and the only way to save the planet as a whole is in looking and celebrating that which brings us together.

Let's look for a common language in all traditions. Let's welcome all who are ready to speak and live the Love.

This is the 2nd coming of Christ and for those who RECEIVED HIM in their hearts there is no doubt or division or animosity towards anybody or in looking "at the straw in your brother’s eye". (Matthew 7:1-5) - how about we look at that which is common like St. Paul did when he brought Christianity in Greece?
All his works were in vain and ministry went to waste until through Grace he was awakened into speaking the spiritual language and celebrating the secular values of the locals - when he put that above his will he was able to find a common denominator and change a whole nation!! Greece was the stronghold of paganism and nothing in hundreds of years could change that ..yet almost overnight it become the strongest in Christian faith...  How powerful is that?

Keep in mind 'in God, Light and Love all unites' - 'while The Adversary separates' ....

Blessings and Grace to you Julia

However I think I begin to understand  the fear that exists with certain individual in this Forum - you think that by looking or inquiring into other traditions and sources of wisdom is a 'sin' that will take you away from Christ...

sadly the church operates according to the same mentality ...and they wonder why more and more people stray away from such closed system

May you be strengthened in your faith and not in your will.

Blessings

Laura,

I think you have offered an amazing suggestion...

Taking your suggestion to heart, let's read what St. Paul personally wrote concerning the 2nd coming of Christ...

Now we request you, brethren, with regard to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, 2 that you not be quickly shaken from your composure or be disturbed either by a spirit or a message or a letter as if from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come. 3 Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, 4 who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God. 5 Do you not remember that while I was still with you, I was telling you these things? 6 And you know what restrains him now, so that in his time he will be revealed. 7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way. 8 Then that lawless one will be revealed whom the Lord will slay with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming; 9 that is, the one whose coming is in accord with the activity of Satan, with all power and signs and false wonders, 10 and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved. 11 For this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false, 12 in order that they all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in wickedness." (2 Thessalonians 2:1-12)

This helps us understand that the 2nd coming of Christ is not merely an invisible event that occurs within the heart.

It also helps us understand that some people will perish, because they refuse to believe the truth. God does not wish for anyone to perish. Yet to those who refuse to believe the truth, the point in time will come when God will send upon them a deluding influence to that they will believe the lie, and will be judged.

Refusing to tell people the truth is hateful, because it condemns them to destruction. Warning people of impending destruction is unconditional love.

Ask or observe any loving parent who has a small child wandering near a busy street. Observe their reaction, and then consider what real love sounds like.

Thanks for encouraging us to listen to the words of the apostle Paul!

The Universe is mental.

Cosmic Consciousness the highest consciousness.

Light Life and Love are all one and the same expression of this consciousness.

Yes Aspect you brought valid points.

To answer your question a true event occurring in the heart is never invisible. If it is invisible is not an event is merely dreaming or wishful imagining.
When the heart goes through such profound transformation the whole individual is transformed.

Yes telling the people your truth is self-honoring yet caution must be employed as to NOT IMPOSE own truth on anyone yet allow every soul to come to that place of inner understanding leading to the above mentioned transformation.
Insisting on own truth in many cases actually has the opposite effect - alas every loving parent knows this - God/Source knows this even better and deeper than us thus we have the option of 'free will' which ultimately when the individual gets to that place it becomes all an illusion because at that level one cannot be, do, anything else but an expression of Source. Thus the words 'thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven' ...'thy will is my will' etc..so to speak in bible language.

Does it make sense to you?

thank you again for your kind words

love and blessings

To look again at the mental expression of love indeed - yet to not be confounded with 'love is in the mind' which is only partially correct.
