I just wanted to share the teachings of my Family's religion SIKHISM.
It is the closest one that comes to describing our ultimate reality.--- i think so--- ppl have not corrupted it --thankfully!

these passages i got from: http://www.sikhism.us/japji-sahib/20096-jap-ji-sahib-paudi-1-a.html
I had not mentioned this before because Even i don't know about my religion that well. The written Holy book by the Gurus (teachers, saints, meditators, truth seekers back in the days) uses a language which relates to Sanskrit--it is called Gurmukhi--- and i do not understand it. sad    Which prevents me from reading the Holy texts. They are written in poetic verses and are all about the Soul and God being the TRUe Creator without any limits without the illusions of this world "maya."

Some parts, like in every religion are misinterpreted but the message is clear and it supports the ULTIMATE REALITY book by our very own Adrian.  smiley

Purpose Of Life

The purpose of life is to worship God and eventually become one with the One.

God is the greatest spirit of all and our soul is a part of God. Our soul has been separated from God and it’s dignity remains in merging back with God. The purpose of this life is to become one with God, to merge in the One whom we originated from. Our Guru tells us “This human body has been given to you. This is your chance to meet the Lord of the Universe. All other works are useless, join the holy congregation and meditate on the Name of God” (Guru Granth Sahib, 12).

In addition, “The blind (those who do not recognize the importance of God) have forgotten the Name of God. The self-willed people are in utter darkness. Their comings and goings in reincarnation do not end; through death and rebirth, they are wasting away” (Guru Granth Sahib, 19). Furthermore, “Those who meditate single-mindedly on the Name of God, and contemplate the Teachings of the Guru. Their faces are forever radiant in the Kingdom of God” (Guru Granth Sahib, 28). If you are not meditating on God, you are wasting your life.

Dear Jasmeen,

Thank you for the transcripts, indeed embrace a very ancient way of understanding God. A few days ago I had a talk with one of the young residents, he is also a Sikh and he told me a lot of interesting things. I love the way this branch got away from Hinduism and its way of dividing people in casts.
Also I was very interested to find out about this community vegetarian ways. The young ones not so much though - here in Canada. That young doctor was wearing short cut hair, and shaved face, but he had the bracelet.
I think you are fortunate to be so open minded, and I am happy you are here Smiley

And if my reading is correct Happy Birthday, may your life be a wonderful one in all aspects.

Nobody erased the posts on purpose. There was a computer glitch last week.

Interesting on how Sikhism goes on Science Smiley - I was just reading this: http://www.scienceinsikhism.org/
actually I have noticed that all religions are becoming Metaphysical as of late - like the other week my friend lead me to this link about this Orthodox monk who's work become focused on sharing the same truths Adrian's book talks about.
At the same time I guess it must be!! as this is my deep belief, that all religions meet and come to an Universal agreement, therefore there's no reason for people to argue about such stuff.
Another one of my deepest beliefs is freedom of thought and respect for life: ALL life. Freedom of thought means that people won't just do what leaders, governments tells them to do, they will come to see the illusion behind all arguments that are against life, compassion, and so on.

I got to run now...

nice seeing you here again

Dear SoulConsole,

Sikhism is clearly wise and has its origins in the distant past. Like Hinduism though I would not refer to Sikhism as a "religion" which does not do it justice - it is a culture - a way of life.

Religions such as Christianity, Islam, even Judaism are the orthodox religions.

Metaphysics has always been fundamental to the non-orthodox religions, but taught by the various cultures in terms of drama, poetry and song.

In Love and Light,

Adrian.
