Ok I am somewhat of a baptist and am aiming towards following the Christian belief. I was wondering for all those here who are already aware in such spiritual life styles. Is there such thing as the devil? I mean for real now. No more lies, who knows for sure?

This is an interesting question. I can say that I used to believe that the existence of a devil or satan was ridiculous.

Now I am not so sure. Three years ago I did have one metaphysical encounter with an evil presence, and this encounter has changed my outlook on many subjects. So I personally know that evil does exist in the framework of duality. Does that mean there is a single entity known as the "devil"?

Here's one argument in favor of that idea. There is a trilogy of books written by Hank Wesselman - known as the Spiritwalker trilogy (nonfiction). Wesselman is a respected anthropologist who had a very unique awakening that thrust him into Shamanism. He's had some incredible experiences, one of which was the encounter with a Mountain Spirit - actually it was the God of a volcano. He said the presence was overwhelming and neither benevolent nor evil. From my own experiences with encountering entities, I have little trouble believing his story.

In addition, there are Shamans who teach that when they need to communicate with animals or insects, they do not attempt communication with the particular group of animals or insects in their presence, but they appeal to the "deity" that represents the whole of the particular species. For ex. they teach that the entire population of ants (and all animals and insect species) has a "Spirit" that is the sum total of all ants - a type of psychic whole that is essentially the "Deity" of ants - this is the "deity" they appeal to.

So that begs the question - could there be a single entity that embodies all evil? Maybe so.

Indeed it is so. If you believe it. Truth. I was of the opposite belief before. That there was indeed an Evil Entity of All Evil Entities and you couldn't convince me otherwise ... I believed the Devil was real not ridiculous... it was hardly funny at the 'time' ...

This was due to circumstances that allowed me to experience in this particular field ... as you share here that you have as well ...

Some say I speak in metaphors, well, so be it, I speak in Spirit and I will share from this now space that evil does indeed (active pursuing) exist (alive)  in the Mind of the One who sees it ...

I share the calendar reading here that I shared recently, only to plant seeds and for each one, this will either bear out to full measure or fall on barren ground ...

"The evils of the world that confront me are a reflection of my own internal state, and no one can protect me from my own mind."

I invite Divine Wisdom into thoughts like these as I see the possibility that I AM far more powerful than I realize...

Thanks for your thoughts Julia. I always enjoy other opinions and ideas as well. I even enjoy a good debate now and then, but I will say that even if I disagree, I don't mean any disrespect.

Many eastern teachers seem to agree with your statement (at least to a degree). Some have stated that what one thinks creates one's reality. And I think there is certainly truth in that, but I don't personally feel that evil only exists for those who believe it (though I am not sure if that is what you were saying).

At least from my own experience I can say that I was confronted with an evil presence - and this was at a time when I neither believed in such things nor gave them any thought.

At the same time, I tend to think that if one dwells on evil, one will attract it and vice versa.

But an entity described as the "devil" may exist, whether one believes in it or not. Just as I exist even if you have never heard of me.

And yet, I must admit that I speak from a dualistic POV. Ultimately, eastern teachings often state that nothing exists - that all is merely a dream (and this notion is one I do lean towards myself). A favorite quote of mine is from the Tripura Rahasya:

"The cycle of births and deaths is from time immemorial caused by ignorance which displays itself as pleasure and pain and yet is only a dream and unreal."

Her dad's close friend was a Catholic Priest who served by exorcising demons when 'other' priests could not remove them ...

Never heard of such things truly, always entertained by Divine Light Beings so...

We all seem to do the reviewing of our life experiences and in moments wonder or ponder as to what the purpose of having certain experiences served ...

What is interesting to me in this very brief exchange (one time meeting) with this girl is that what she said served me well as a preparation for what lay ahead, unbeknownst to me at the time ...

In reading this Priest's book review, I find it interesting that it says;

"He also reveals how little modern science, psychology, and medicine can do to help those under Satan's influence, and that only the power of Christ can release them from this kind of mental, spiritual or physical suffering."

While I did grow up in a 'Christian' flavored background, there were many things not discussed such as this and I am in no way religious, so, to have this information given to me out of the blue and then forgetting all about it being 11, only to have it brought to mind when I was in the midst of these 'attacks' was mind boggling.

Our personal experiences do influence us because we uniquely understand for ourselves what 'works'.

These experiences then led me on an exploratory adventure into the Spiritual realms and well here I am today...

What I definitely noticed in these moments was the Energy, it was very real and very experientially felt and all the while there was a Voice speaking to me through it all and this is the Voice I have chosen to listen to still, it has not led me astray and gives Insight into circumstances that cannot be seen with human eyes, this is available for all who would be in touch with IT is all I can express.

Thank you Xbalanque, I sense there is a deeper purpose for bringing these things to Light in Light of what we 'see' going on in this world in this 'modern' day.

I know I will enjoy more conversations with you Julia.

The things you have written suggests that you have indeed experienced alt-realms.

I always read about such things with intense skepticism until I had my own experiences. Now I can usually sense when a story is true or not - just by the description of the event and how the person felt.

I recall a story told by two native Americans (father and son) that came in contact with some sort of large flying demon. The father related the story, which took place while they were driving in a remote area and this thing pounced on their car and looked at them through the front windshield while they were driving. Though it's easy to dismiss a story like this, the description of how he felt, and especially of his son, gave me pause. He said that both he and his son became physically ill from being in the presence of this "demon", with his son violently throwing up shortly after the incident. And he stated that months later his son (who was in his mid-20s) still could not talk about the event.

Having also been in the presence of evil, their description rings true for me. I personally felt sick to my stomach and this sick feeling (impossible to describe the feeling - it was a sick feeling more in the spiritual sense rather than physical, but felt in the physical body as well) permeated my entire body. All I wanted to do was escape this feeling.

BTW, do you hear this voice using words? Is it a human voice?

I understand the skepticism which is why I kept these things within and did not share with others for quite awhile. It is amazing how an experience can alter ones view...

Your story is very interesting. Language is a form of communication used here in this realm and words are a way of shaping a thought form. Symbols of meanings being expressed. In other words, it is tricky to describe these things using physical words, meanings and pictures that can allow another to relate to what is being expressed.

What I also became aware of in these experiences is that we are emitting energy and are immersed in an energy field or fields. For instance, in one experience I had, I found out that there were those involved in pursuing by practicing what we call the dark arts and while I was made aware of this, I did not hang out with these ones. And I noticed that when certain events took place in a specific location, it seemed to be a collected or gathered energy into a certain place or space dependent upon what activities were being practiced.

Which is one of the things Shamans do, clean or clear a spaces energy.

The story of the father and son is intriguing as it seems that while they were in a remote area and not particularly looking for this experience, it presented itself to them. They uncovered an energy field or place that possibly practices had been or were being practiced.

For myself, these events are how I became more aware intuned to energy and realized that I am a sensitive energy Being.

I do understand in my own way of 'trying' to express the feelings you are describing and how it permeates ones entire being along with the deep desire to be removed from it. It grips you, and while totally coherent, ones ability to move can be removed. I have experienced being locked down if you will, unable to open my mouth or move my body while my eyes were wide open and very aware that what is taking place is not an every day kind of event.

Which brings me to your question of hearing this Voice using words and is it human?

Hmmm... all I can say here is that words are a symbolic form of communication used in this realm and yet we know well when 'hearing' these words that it is being translated, there is something behind the words, a Presence.

There is an Energy Present in the 'words' and I am able to 'feel' the words and understand them, coming from the inside while these events are taking place. This Energy Presence pierces through if you will. The Voice 'sound' is other sounding in a human way of relating. It is not loud at all and takes focusing on IT to hear it through the din. IT permeates ITs calmness, even through the raging emotions going on. I know this sounds woo woo, not easy trying to describe something that is unlike anything seen or heard of in the everyday ways of this realm. I feel connected to this Voice by the calm sensed and while these things were going on I was drawn into this Presence and 'told' to focus on IT. IT stood out if you will.

What I have also noticed is that when these events have taken place there is a high frequency sound ringing in my ears which I have come to understand is a signal of where to focus while these events have taken place.

Wow! I haven't shared this so much really and yes, it does sound a bit strange but there it is. Or as best as can be expressed in this moment.

I have to say that I am also greatly enjoying these conversations. Generally speaking I do not get opportunities to talk about these things since I don't know anyone who's had an experience like this. Naturally most people cannot understand it and really have no patience hearing it.

I also have to say that I appreciated your description of the "voice". Your description of "feeling" the words is interesting - it's close to how I would also describe it.

I asked because I too have had experiences where a presence or entity communicated with me. One occurred at age 7. During the experience, I was in a place that could be described as "heaven". It was a place of pure, overwhelming love. During my "stay" there I was surrounded by other beings - none of whom I could see but they were all around me, but not in a type of form or shape. And none of them communicated with me but their presence still radiated intense love.

After some time one of the beings did finally communicate with me. This being told me (without words) that it was time for me to leave. When I asked to stay, the being once again told me I had to leave. All without words. The communication was compassionate, but also firm and direct. Based on these experiences, I feel strongly that words are very limited in their ability to convey precise meaning. They can always be misconstrued - whereas this other form of communication is pure and has absolutely no ambiguity as to the meaning conveyed.

Based on all of this, I feel that there is great symbolic meaning to the Bible's teaching that in the beginning was the "Word" and the word was with God and the word was God. For me, "God" is, at least in part, yin and yang - the creative and destructive force of polarity.

Egyptian teachings and Buddhist teachings also say that our physical world was created first by thought, then by word, which lead to the naming of all things (which was done by Adam, according to Genesis). It is taught in ancient traditions that it's the combination of "word and name" that creates the physical word.

The quote below is from Mythology: Myths, Legends & Fantasies. The text was taken from the Shabaka stone, a product of ancient Egypt, which is housed at the British Museum:

"Ptah was brought into existence [when] he conceived ideas in his heart, considered them with his reason, and then spoke the words from his mouth. As the words dropped from his tongue, they turned into physical entities."

And what are "words" but "thought" made solid through vibration. Sounds are of course nothing more than vibration, which our ears and brain make sense out of.

From my experience and the experiences of others I've read about, when communication is done in other dimensions, words are not needed.

It seems that words are needed only in this dimension. And that in some way, words are the foundation of creation.

I was not introduced to the defintion of  'evil' until age 11, until then, well ... I did not know how to describe, define or express this, so, this is from my early intro into this forum and newbie or no ... you and All newbies are most welcomed here ... refreshing the well ~

I have really InJoyed reading your response here and will say that I do indeed blend with what you are sharing ... these 'things' thoughts, ideas have been shared here in this forum under a topic of sound in meditation. Last years archives ... Adrian, Darrell, Tessa were active on this one ...
