Happened to watch a news story, about a child that ate most anything that fit into her mouth. Pins ( open and closed) needles, toys, sticks, stones, sand etc. Shown were the emergency room visits with this child, to see just where the pins went, lungs or stomach. Watching this all brought to mind the word 'Pica'. (one meaning, is craving for unnatural food) Also wonder, when seeing a young one picking in their nose and........, if this is a pica condition that indicates a mineral deficiency! Used to see pica condition in action, decades ago, with animals on the farm. (Won't go into the details of what made it noticeable) So the solution was mineral salt blocks. Light pink colored salt blocks, as I recall. Was also a plain white salt block out, that received very little attention once the pink salt block was set up. Trace minerals in the special salt block seemed to satisfy the urge for 'a some thing special' in those animals. Upon reflection must of been a 'pica' condition at play when I was doing the action quoted below, and forum posted about it: There I am, standing in front of the reefer ( refrigerator), one
hand holding the reefer door open, the other hand moving items about
to see what they were. I'm asked by a family member “what are you
looking for?”. My reply is “I really don’t know, but will know when I see
it”. Here the funny part really kicked in, when I would squirt some
ketchup or mustard on my finger and taste it. Spoon a bit of pickle, or
left over gravy, or even a spoonful of milk, a shot of Tabasco sauce.
This would go on until, wow, the what ever it was that I had just tasted,
put out the “crave” feeling. Would at that point, read the ingredient list,
to help determine what the “crave quencher” was. This led to more
investigation and in great depth, to vitamins, minerals, amino acids and
so on. Now, this didn’t answer all the questions, but did set the tempo
for further personal research purposes and corrective actions. Pica action can be triggered by a lack of trace minerals, especially, chromium and vanadium. Be Well |

Wow Talker!  It's been awhile since I've read anything about this. The way I heard about was reading years back about people who eat dirt. Thank you for bringing this up for another look. Hi Beloved Talker! I can relate… because we are all connected, and some of us very tightly. I just asked myself why do I always speak in personal terms, while the majority approaches general issues… and it came to my mind that we are a Soul Family with very personal karma and energy cords interconnected, and we are here to solve the issues and balance that old karma, release the cords so we can move on. Hence all kinds of tender, loving and violent reactions between many of us (you know who we are). We sense each other so well. We want to separate but we can’t… We may have been in all kinds of relationships in other lifetimes – parents, sons and daughters, lovers, enemies – and those feelings are still in us, meant to become Unconditional Love. I love you Dean, at least you won’t get upset if I say that! Send you warm Hugs overseas! And now that I (too) had my exquisite share of interaction with the unrecognizable tender Adrian of the last days, and the very well known Adrian is fully back , I make a call to my Soul Sisters and Brother to come back and stand by us, for we are One. There is a large spectrum of feelings between all of us, of a Soul Family. Underlying is Divine Love ~ I Love you All, and I feel you All. I think it’s time for the final reunion. I did not think of myself as an "unrecognisable tender" - but there is a first time for everything I guess As for speaking in "personal terms" - this is entirely natural and understandable after a lifetime of thinking of "self as I". I use "We" wherever possible, but still lapse in to "I" from time to time - a life-long habit. Also of course often-times it makes no sense to say "we" when speaking of personal experience. For example" - we cannot really say "we like Brocolli" when I mean "I like Brocolli" We have to balance this by recognising that we are a "Triune" Being of Body, Mind and Spirit. Body - we really have to use "I". Spirit - we can use "We". Mind - simply Is. So it depends on the context. All that said - it is the intent and understanding that matters, so it really does not matter, in the grand scheme of things, whether we use "I" or "We" if the context is generally understood. Well, Adrian, I referred more at the issues approached, as in personal relationships between us Humans. What else is life about, and what helps us evolve other than relationships? Some relate to religion, some very personally to Jesus, some retire in the mountains and meditate, and some love and hate, laugh and cry, and finally evolve to Unconditional Love. I love the simple things, close to just Being. Therefore I rarely get involved in scientific and religious topics. I have read the New Testament several times, and had several years of believing deeply in its teachings (1995-2002), and then made contact with metaphysics and embraced it totally at once. Jesus is in my heart as a Friend; I believe he existed on Earth as a Spiritual Master and very evolved Soul, but that’s all, I do not need to talk of Him, or fear hell. Heaven and hell are in us, and we experience them fully in the earthly lives. So, relating to people who come into my life is most important. Some come and go, and we have little to discuss, some stay, and we still have little to discuss. And there are those we meet and instantly feel connected, and can talk anything and profoundly and after years of not talking resume the chat from where we left it… I’m deeply touched by Talker’s sensitivity. He is one of the most Loving and Tender Humans I was fortunate to meet. Some of his posts bring me to tears. And yes, you were that Tender too these days, and I think that I can see that aspect in you much better than you are able and willing to see it. Everything was already said in the other thread, so I just remain Blessed and in Gratitude for meeting such Great Souls and Being able to SEE (feel) them. Life is just a spark of Heaven sometimes, and if I ever come back here, hope to have a Company as Great as that of this lifetime! Talker, we sure gave the World a Huge portion of Love, didn’t we? Amen - about "Talker" - I feel very, very Blessed to not only enjoy his great contributions to the forum, but for who he Is. Our Talker has many rare and great qualities. I am in a nostalgic mood right now, as a nice Vegan soup is prepared and I remember the music of the '70's.
