Just curious if anyone has had any experience with Reiki. My experience has been positive and I am still learning whatever I can.
At first, I had a distant attunement. It was using "real time" msn messenger with the teacher. Since I've been doing something called New Energy Ways as energy work for about 3 years, I've become sensitive to energy. During the attunement I felt strong sensations in my crown center and the palms of my hands.
Next, I'll be attending an 'in person' weekend workshop near where I live. Just south of Flagstaff, about 35 minutes away, there will be a 2 eight hour day Usui I and II workshop in Sedona, Arizona. The teachers are lineage holding, ICRT certified Usui Reiki teachers. I'm looking forward to this 2 day process which will include Level I and II Usui attunements and certification. The teachers also include training on symbols and hand positions, as well as other aspects of learning.
My experience with energy has me knowing it is very real. My hope is to add Reiki and learn how to use it for healing.
If you have any experience with Reiki, or Reiki and healing, please consider sharing your experiences below. Thanks.
Nick

I guess you could say I'm a reiki master, but in my eyes I'm just a reiki practitioner who happens to have been attuned to the master level. I first discovered usui reiki about 2 years ago and have been working with it ever since. I have never actually had any in person practice with reiki other than on myself, but I also don't see much of a need to considering reiki has no boundaries. If the will to heal is there with reiki, healing will occur.
I very much wish I could get some time off work and head up to Sedona myself for these workshops of which you speak (I live in Phoenix), but for the moment I have bogged myself down too much to do so. It sounds like a great event, and I'm sure it would benefit me greatly.
Right after I got my attunement to the master level and was taught how to attune others my ego took off and I began attuning people left and right as if I had something to prove. I have within the last 6 months quit giving attunements after realizing that I need to rediscover what reiki is all about. Now I am trying to start off anew and perhaps one day become a master reiki practioner.
Reiki is one of the greatest gifts one can share with the world and goes hand in hand with unconditional love.

Hi Links Shadow, Thanks for sharing your experiences with Reiki. I agree Reiki has no boundaries. Reiki will go where its needed for the highest good, and should be shared with unconditional love. These days I have a little more free time than I used to. Believe me, I understand how work can give one too much to do. Since you are in Phoenix, I'll post the website of the folks doing the workshop. They have them on a recurring basis. Maybe if not now, at some point down the road? The Reiki person who attuned me said that they are a good group of people. The website can be found by clicking here Infinite Light Reiki Classes. They are affiliated with William Lee Rand of the International Center for Reiki Training. His website has a lot of good information, and articles too. It can be found by clicking International Center for Reiki Training. Nick

Hi. I have received Reiki recently and noticed something I think important. I am very attuned to my own energy and its "feel". The practitioner was putting out nowhere near "my" energy while dealing with my neck area ki paths. I did not expect the treatment to work because of this energy mismatch, yet it was dramatically effective. My point is that if you do not actively block the energy, Reiki can work even without being your own energy type. A practioner need not "know" you to be of some help.

This reiki attunement seems interesting. Do we need some experience with it before we can get attuned? I guess I might have to read on that stuff before doing it....
Take care,

Take a look at William Lee Rand's website, The International Center for Reiki Training. I've posted the link above. He has lots of great information there that should answer many questions. Also, you do not need any experience beforehand. Nick

Thank you Nick,
I went on the website and, as a matter of fact, everybody can subscribe to a distant personal Reiki healing request. I will try it but they ask: ''(...)the illness or situation you are concerned about''. I really do not know what I need to heal on myself.... Maybe I need more enregy? We will see what are the results on me.
I will subscribe my mother's boyfriend that have a degenerative cancer. I will not tell him about it and observe if he feels better after it is done. Should I tell him? maybe it might be more effective....
Thanks for sharing the link and take care,

Hi patapouf, There is a forum that you can join and learn about Reiki. It is called Share Reiki International and can be found by clicking HERE. SRI Forum also has a subforum called Distant Healing Requests where people on the forum will send Reiki healing energy to the intended person. You may want to look it over. All the best, Nick

People who are not accepting of ki type knowledge are remarkably closed to it. If this person is informed in advance they may actively block the energy out of a sense of "violation". A person who is open to the idea may feel violated at not being informed. It takes a person open to love to accept a healing gift without repercussion. I say tell them, but be prepared for the discussion that follows.

Hi Sofie,
I agree with you. The person receiving the Reiki healing should consent to it. I imagine there are situations where exceptions apply, however as a general rule the person should agree.
Good point that you brought up.

No problem, I will tell him about it but I'm 100% sure he doesn't know anything about Rieki! I really do not think he will refuse this help since having cancer is not a pleasant thing to have....
Thanks again folks,
Take care,

Hi Nick - my experiences with Reiki have been very real indeed. I had some preliminary "experiments" with healing energy about a year ago where I concentrated, focussed, & visualized energy coming down at me & healed a strained back I had at the time. I was pretty amazed at this & have no idea where it came from - just out of the blue, so to speak! & I had never even heard of Reiki or anything like it. Since then I have come across Reiki & just "happened" to find a practitioner in my neighbourhood, & have now attained Reiki 1 & been attuned. My teacher seemed to be quite in tune with me, & I could feel the energy very strongly from her hands. I haven't managed to do it myself yet to any great degree or with much success - confidence & belief being the major obstacles, but it does work & I am very eager to get more hands on practice & master the techniques & move on to the next level. There's no doubting the validity of it in my eyes. I've found umpteen websites offering useful info on the subject too..

Hi all, Tone thanks for your post. I'm happy to read of your experiences with Reiki. I agree, it is very real. Congratulations on your attunement! I thought I would share a little bit about the Usui Reiki I & II workshop I attended this past weekend, so here goes. In a nutshell, it was a fantastic experience! The two teachers: Laurelle Gaia & Michael Baird are affiliated with William Lee Rand of The International Center for Reiki Training (ICRT) http://www.reiki.org/ . All 3 of them signed our certificates from the ICRT which reads: First & Second Degree Reiki - Usui Shiki Ryoho. Not that I need a certificate, but it does look nice. The weekend was intensive learning. We were able to ask questions. They also provided a manual authored by William Lee Rand called Reiki The Healing Touch which was the latest January 2005 edition. All the information and techniques in the manual were covered during the worksop including: Reiki Hand positions, complete treatment for self and others, the Reiki II symbols and their use, using Reiki for specific conditions, how to heal unwanted habits, as well as distant healing, scanning & beaming. The class was a combination of lectures, discussions, and experiences. We did hands on practice as well for all the things I mentioned above. They also reviewed subjects such as the Hayashi Healing Guide and Japanese Reiki techniques. All in all, a thorough and comprehensive weekend. There were about a dozen participants. People were from all over, there was even one woman from Puerto Rico. Two were from Ohio, one from New Jersey, one from Seattle. I guess I was the closest being only a half hour drive away here in Arizona. It was a nice weekend, and I met some great people. I may go back in the Fall for their next level. We'll see. All the best, Nick

Well, my mother's boyfriend do not have too long left before he will ''go to the other side''; the doctor told my mother that he had less than 3 months.... He is so thin now.... Probably the best approach is that he prepares himself to leave and that he does it in an happy state of mind (easier said than done of course). I'll search some web sites that may help him on that. If you know some good one folks, it will be highly appreciated.
Take care,

Hi Nick,
I'm a level I Usui Reiki channel, and my Wife Sarah is a Seichim Reki Master (a branch of Usui Reiki)
We've had nothing but positive results from it. I use Reiki in combination with crystals over the main chakra points to perform crystal healings which can at the very least open and balance the whole energy body, with some really positive and long term results.
Sarah has developed a specialty of sorts in that she's become very adept at relieving, if not completely removing migrains from people. Her best friend suffers debilitating migrains, and Sarah's reiki treatments have so far been the only thing aside from large doses of heavy painkillers that will remove the pain.
Blessings, James.
