Here are some raw vegan Italian dishes

Raw Lasagna by Chris Watts, unfortunately he does not give the recipe, but one can improvise

Fettuccine Alfredo

Jenna Miranda in the above video suggests to use a bit of wite wine. If you do, make sure that it is an organically produced wine. Many chemicals are used when growing and prodicing wine. In addition, alcohol is really bad for your liver. You can substitute wine with a very small amount of apple cider vinegar to add a slight acidic taste to this dish, if desired.

Many raw vegans go even a step above and consume a lot of so called “Superfoods” that through ages have shown to be beneficial to health and stamina.

Superfoods, though desirable, are not absolutely necessary. One can get a lot of nourishment from dark green leafy vegetables, especially if picking the wild variety.

Talk to the elders in the area where you live, maybe they can guide you to the edible wild plants and greens. Those are far more potent than the cultivated varieties. They also carry the most of the local energy in them, and will connect you energetically to the region where you live.

But for those who would like to find more about superfoods, and how to consume them, here are 4 videos with Shazzie.

She speaks of Goji berries, which are considered to be one of the superfoods. I was told on several occasions that Goji berries, grown in Tibet, are just a variety of ground cherries that grow in tempered climates, and are orange, rather than red. Shazzie also mentions the fact that Goji berries grow wild in the UK. So those of you who live in the moderate climates and have a bit of lend can grow your own supper berries. Apparently, it is easy to grow them.

Some raw food recipes call for the milk or meat of the young coconut. But it is not easy to open it if you have never done that before. Here is one method how to open it

Here is a recipe for an All-American Raw Apple Pie.

The recipe calls for almonds. The almonds have to be Raw. Unfortunately, all the almonds now produced in California are pasteurized and/or fumigated, and are still labeled raw. You will have to search for almonds produced in other countries than US, or you can find certified organic almonds on internet, but those are more expensive.

You can also try and substitute almonds with other nuts, like hazelnuts, for instant, or any other nuts. Be inventive!

Please note that "Archive clips expire after 90 days." So you better hurry up and learn how to make this pie before then!    smiley

Hello Wavepsychic,

Flowers are like mushrooms, some are edible, others are poisonous. For instance, irises are poisonous and pansies are edible. One should consult a book on edible flowers before attempting to eat them. There are also websites that list several edible flowers:

thanks Melody, As a vegetarian I am into trying new plant stuff. I eat the same things over and over and I know its not good.

I knew that broccoli is a flower. I am just not sure that I'm going to know what the flower is when I see it somewhere. Wouldn't it be funny to see some guy in a green house eating the flowers? LMAO

Hello Wavepsychic,

I am aspiring to be 100 % raw vegan, but I find it very difficult to eat only raw fruit, vegetables and nuts due to various circumstances that pop up, so I also end up eating them cooked.

I find raw vegan food very delicious and satisfying when prepared with love. One does not need to eat as much of it to get a satiated feeling, since one gets all the enzymes, vitamins and mineral in an unaltered organic form. Our bodies being made of organic elements, it is easier for it to digest raw food and to use it as cell building material. When cooked, the enzymes and some vitamins are destroyed, and minerals and other vitamins become inorganic.
