I have read about our shadow selfs here:
http://www.io.com/~embrace/ego.htmlAnd also Harrison Klien talked about it in one of his new teleseminars.
I was just wondering what are they exactly? The parts of our selves that we repress? How do we get rid of them?
We have to love, accept and embrace it as a part of ourselves?
But I thought we were perfect in that we shouldn't have these negative parts?
I am a little confused some help would be greatly appreciated thanks.
Hello emon878,
I had experienced much, as you've stated, over the decades. With a tad of my awkward humor, 'I would have been satisfied to be only a little confused in those times of my life'. Going to answer in a way that addresses each of your questions.
What I say may or may not be a total answer or even close to be being an answer, becoming a maybe type answer. Here goes:(

(I do entertain Ego thoughts that are not readily accepted or believed in. It works for me though.) Ones 'ordinary' ego stores all emotions, feelings, and every experience, as its reality to exist as it pleases. Ego sorts, so to speak, all inputs into many thousands of categories and nicely labels then for future use. These emotions, feelings, and every experience, are short burst of stored energy, of the plus or minus type. Initially there is little or no conflict going on. As ego draws upon those stored energies, it endeavors to make sense of what is currently active, with what is about to happen, mixed in with stored energies of the past. Some times it all turns out OK.
Other times ego says 'no way' and that specific 'no way energy' because it has had 'direct focus and attention' applied, becomes a 'Shadow Self'. As I see it, every experienced doubt, unhappy moment event, and unfulfilled desire, turns into a 'Shadow Self' to contend with, and generally when you least want such an appearance in your life.
Nothing is wasted energy wise.
All and every energy experienced, is converted into a 'stored' some thing. Some we won't face, some we don't want to face, and others we just go ahead and conveniently bury deep within ones self.
All this can be at levels not consciously recognized, but non the less they are lurking there, to eventually rise again. (

Well, if nothing happens by accident, we got a problem here. Some lesson to learn yet!
Shucks, who needs all this aggravation, screwups in their life! Some of the stored energies, that ego tucked away, may have arrived from parents, teachers, ministers, bible reading, songs, movies, dreams, loves, an endless list involved here. Any momentary conflict between any of what may be, by now, ones established beliefs, is another so called 'Shadow Self. Not aware of who might be totally free of any 'Shadow Selfs, as it appears we all have a few of them to cope with, in some way, shape or form.
The upside is, If we did in fact accumulate all these 'Shadow Selfs' all on our own, then we are able to correct them by conscious choice. If we did accept them, as 'Shadow Selfs, as they were being absorbed into our being, we can sure start to undo, by our choice, to get rid of them. First off, none of it is a punishment from God or anyone else. Secondly, we may have actually preplanned it all, before we were born. Why, for the sheer experiencing of it. I know, I know that's nutty thinking, but after years of efforts to make sense of it all, it seemed in a way to answer the question of 'why me'. So, If I planned it at some point, I must have seen an answer that needed 'finding' by me or an awakening to 'who and what I am' within Source. We each have a unique and special path that in the main, is 'specially ours'. Basically we get rid of the 'Shadow Selfs' by learning to 'love' ourselves first, that is contrary to certain accepted methods. Then we learn to 'forgive ourselves', even if there is 'nothing to forgive', which sounds even nuttier than the other thoughts mentioned.

We are not forced to "love, accept and embrace" anything. We should though, by conscious ego choice, choose, to "love, accept and embrace" our true heritage of 'Godhood, and Christhood' in our finally waking up to it. We are perfect in Spirit. We choose to experience. How can one experience it all, until we get a good dose of the full spectrum of the plus or minus type. So, until I get more experience, that may alter my thinking, I'll go with what seems to make sense to me.
Be Well
