Hello Awakened soul

For me if there are some words that irritate me in a what I feel a good song, I would simply change some of the words so that it suits my personality.  And you too could go and show love to whom you like by playing with the words.
In life we will always going to modify things to be comfortable with.

Hello Marwa,
Wise decision to change those words that don't resonate harmoniously with you. As long as you are at peace with the changes. Ran into the same situation with some prayers that I was taught, as a youngster. Had stopped using those prayers, as certain phrases were in conflict with my beliefs. Upon introspection of some belief factors, I changed some details of certain prayers. Only a few words of those prayers were changed, but what a difference, when reciting them. At first my inner Babbler was quite aroused, shouting out "you can't do that". Eventually the raucous chatter by my Babbler diminished enough for the altered prayers to become a useable prayer, totally in harmony now with my beliefs.

Oh there are two other songs from Tool which lyrics are absolutely amazing

Lateralus - Words by Adam Jones

Black then white are all I see in my infancy
Red and yellow then came to be reaching out to me
Lets me see

As below so above and beyond - I imagine
Drawn beyond the lines of reason
Push the envelope - watch it bend...

Over-thinking, over-analyzing separates the body from the mind
Withering my intuition missing opportunities and I must
Feed my will to feel my moment drawing way outside the lines...

Black then white are all I see in my infancy
Red and yellow then came to be reaching out to me
Lets me see...

There is so much more, and beckons me
To look through to these infinite possibilities...

As below so above and beyond -
I imagine drawn outside the lines of reason
Push the envelope - watch it bend...

Over-thinking, over-analyzing separates the body from the mind
Withering my intuition leaving opportunities behind

FEED MY WILL TO FEEL THIS MOMENT
URGING ME TO CROSS THE LINE...
REACHING OUT TO EMBRACE THE RYTHM;
REACHING OUT TO EMBRACE WHATEVER MAY COME...

... I embrace my desire to...
... I embrace my desire to
Feel the rythm, to
Feel connected,
Enough to step aside and weep like a widow, to
Feel inspired, to
Phathom the power, to
Witness the beauty, to
Bathe in the foutain, to
Swing on the spiral, to
Swing on the spiral, to...

Swing on the spiral of our own divinity and... still be a human... (this phrase nearly makes me cry!!!)

With my feet upon the ground, I lose myself between the sounds
And open wide to suck it in, I feel it move across my skin
I'm reaching up and reaching out,
I'm reaching for the random, or whatever will bewilder me
Whatever will bewilder me, and
Following our will and wind, we may just go where no one's been,
We'll ride the spiral till the end and may just go where no one's been

Spiral out!
Keep Going!
Spiral out!
Keep Going!
Spiral out!
Keep Going!
SPIRAL OUT!!!!
Keep Going!

This song has a beautiful music but you have to open your mind to electric guitars and drums or else you'll consider this as noise :p

The next one deals with the ego and has profound lyrics but the music is really dark for some reason. Surely to represent the pain and misery that the ego can make in our lives if we don't deal with it in some way. If you want to listen to the song, once again, open your mind before you say it's noisy and totally dark :p

Reflection

I have come curiously close to the end
Down beneath my self-indulgent pityful hole
Defeated and conceded
I move closer...
I may find comfort here
I may find peace within the emptiness
... How pityful  undecided

It's calling me...
It's calling me...
It's calling me...
It's calling me...

And in my darkest moment, fetal and weeping
The moon tells me a secret - my confident
As full and bright as I am,
This light is not my own...
A million light reflections pass over me...
This source is bright and endless,
She ressucitates the hopeless
Without her we are lifeless satellites drifting...
And as I pull my head out, I am without one doubt
Don't wanna peer down here, serving my narcissism...
I must crucify the ego, before it's far too late
I pray the light lifts me up,
before I pine away...
before I pine away...
before I pine away...
before I pine away...

So crucify the ego, before it's far too late
To leave behind this place so negative and blind and cynical
And you will come to find that we are all one mind
Capable of all that's imagined and all conceivable
Just let the light touch you, and let the words spill through
and let them pass right through, bringing out our hope and reason...

Before we pine away...
Before we pine away...
Before we pine away...
Before we pine away...

Hello,

I thought I would add a more light hearted post here and ask who are your favourite musicians, particularly those who raise your vibration and inner connection.

My favourite musician by far is Enya.

If I was to envisage what an Angel might look and sound like, I often feel sure that Enya might be it Smiley

I sense in Enya a very deep Spiritual connection within, and she seems timeless and ageless.

Some of my favourite Enya videos although I love them all. Notice how children appear with her, and many, if not most of her videos take place in nature - especially in her beautiful Ireland just across the water from me where she lives:

How can I keep from singing

On my way home

Only time

The Celts

Storms in Africa

And this is a track from Lord of the Rings that she composed and sang:

Sound track to Lord of the Rings

And this is her latest:

Amarantine

This song is different to the others above - but very beautiful - and still deep in nature Smiley She still looks as young as ever at 47.

Let me know what you think and post your favourite artists.

Enjoy.

In Love and Light,

Adrian.

Hi Adrian,

I also enjoy listening to Enya.  I've enjoyed listening to the songs you posted links to quite a few times, but I've never seen the videos until now, so thank you very much for sharing those links.

Currently my favorite musician is Thom Brennan.  I very much enjoy meditating to his music or any other time.  For me his music is very captivating, mystical, and inspiring.  His music always fills me with an immense amount of love and happiness.  I always feel like I'm in a mystical paradise when listening to his music.

Hello Kailaurius,

Excellent music. Thank you for sharing.

You can always tell when a composer has a deeper connection.

Actually Enya's second name is Brennan as well. Well actually her full name is "Eithne Patricia Ní Bhraonáin" but she uses Enya Brennan Smiley

In Love and Light,

Adrian.

Hello Adrian, Kailaurius and All, smiley

Thank you for this wonderful idea. I love Enya. I have a 'hard time' keeping track of my cd's because my grand children love Enya as well! wink The eldest borrows my cd's (for the Highest Enjoyment of All (her brother and sister included) and 'forgets' to put them back. wink

She as I also enjoys Andreas Vollenweider's 'Down to the Moon' cd as well as Atahualpa, Instrumental Music 2003.

As some of 'you' well know I am not as 'adept' in posing links. wink

Kailaurius, I will go in and 'check out' your contributions as well and I am sure I will enjoy them.

Thank you for sharing Love and Joy,

Julia

Dear Julia,

Thanks very much for adding to this.

Well it seems that we unanimously agree about Enya Smiley

I am sure it her Energy that attracts us. Even her first solo song after leaving her families band - Clannad - was "The Solar Wind".

She also had 12 cats once Smiley

In Love and Light,

Adrian.

...and she seems timeless and ageless.

Yes most definitely.  I'm not sure how long she's been recording songs or when she got started, but I can remember listening to her music when I was in college sometime around '88 or '89.  So even after 20 years since then she still looks like she could be in her early 30's from what I've just recently seen in her videos on Youtube.

Hello Kailaurius,

Her first solo music was around 1983.  She also usually plays all the instruments for her songs as well.

Adrian.

I really don't know about her I'll try to open my mind to her these next days

My style is more Heavy Metal and Progressive Metal -- a pain for unhabituated ears : tongue

My favourite bands are

Iron Maiden: For me, the greatest band ever in the world. I feel deeply alive when I listen to their music and I get involved in it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EgLuMQnnBKs&feature=related

Metallica: The Power within comes without. Another great band that absolutely everybody knows. They "screamed their barbarian "YAWP" on each corner of the world". I'm in love with the James Hetfield's voice!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6KtF7ql3FJc

Dream Theater: As the name says, their music is a theater for dreams. Their lyrics are often highly spiritual and their music is sometimes deeply mystical and profound

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6WPl8DaQYdk Voices - Live
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JDGSvbpB9Kg&feature=related Voices - Studio

Symphony X: Their singer Russell Allen sings like a god for me !!! Michael Romeo's totally divine at guitars!! Just like Dream Theater, there are some songs that I can listen to for hours and hours without end. They have the ability to take you wherever they want to take you with their music and their words. One song's titled "The Odyssey" and tells out the story of Odysseus after the fall of Troy. Its length is 24:16 !!!
Their music is (for me) totally divine and perfect Cry

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jkRO3lzA2YY&feature=related
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6TKwoHVKUiM

Linkin' Park: The youth, the energy, the rage, the desire to scream.
LIKE THIS :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_eopCV3ZTxQ

The Offspring: same reason, the desire to feel alive

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0OqWq_gR3Bk (this is an amv for an anime named Trigun)

Ayreon: woo... I don't know where to start. It's a loong story here. Ayreon deals , throughout all their songs and all their albums, about a fictional story: In the 6th century, a blind menstrel receives visions from scientists from 2084. In 2084, humanity blowed itself in a nuclear war... The menstrel tries to warn as many people as he can but he is not heard, and even worse, he is treated everywhere as some evil wizard. He ends up killed by Merlin in the Camelot castle. Just as he dies, Merlin also receives these same visions and says:

"I see one day
his story will be told
at the end of the 20th century
I see one day
the truth will unfold
and the quest has now begun
oh Ayreon!

I hope one day
that man will understand
it's in his power to change his destiny
I hope one day
he'll do all that he can
and all the nations will be one
oh Ayreon!"

I won't tell you the rest of the story (and what I told you is but the tip of the iceberg) so that you go and take a look

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6foW8QXyUg
Take a look! it's really worth it!! Here we are no longer in the subject of music but in a beautiful sci-fi story that deals about Universal matters

Tool: Totally spiritual, despite the appearances. The "Tool" is in fact a tool to understand "lachrymology" ("the only way for man to evolve is to explore and understand his physical and spiritual pain"). Seems really dark indeed but you can no longer say so when you hear the lyrics of their songs

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wS7CZIJVxFY

Angra: Great musicians, power, fire, energy, and philosophy

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pwcTBoMJV4A
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qqNEXzPMOf8&feature=related (the lyrics of this second song are on here : http://www.ourultimatereality.com/forums/nice-song-lyrics-t345.0.html )

Evanescence: I love Amy Lee's voice, but she is always complaining about some painful relationship she had in the past. The same can be said about Linkin' park in a certain way

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZjf9C6atT4

JT Bruce: This guy puts all of his music free on the net, you can download all of his songs, and they're fabulous. Profound, deep, and beautiful.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RGqY918moeA

here's his website: http://subjectruin.net/ I the "music" section, he lets you download all his music for free Smiley

Dear Darrell,

I like many of those groups as well. Gregorian chants can sound very interesting.

What many might not know about Enya that sets her apart from other groups is that she actually composes the music and plays all the musical instruments on her recordings as well.

In Love and Light,

Adrian.

Good Morning,

I knew Enya did all her own composing, but I did not know she also played all the instruments though, very interesting - Thank you.
I also agree with what you said about the music from the late 60's and 70's. What made it so great was the fact ' kids ' that had never played an instrument in their lives were buying them and creating great song lyrics and music.

my tastes in music are varied I also love enigma and enya and songs that generally make me feel sad (why is this) thought provoking kind of music, there are also certain songs that remind me of times in my life - like breakfast a Tiffany's that reminds me of university, that take me back to that time.  In fact for valentines day last year I made my husband a CD of our first 5yrs together, music from when we were dating, music from our wedding, music when our children were born etc, we both seem to attach music to memories and like to remember good or bad.

Quite a lot of psychology there I think!
