Jesse  ~ I am surprised that you are an Aries. cheesy  I figured you to be Pisces, for some reason...  The only 3 Aries that I have known well are deep thinkers, but very (unconciously) selfish., they do not mean to be.
It is almost like they were soldiers in a trench, in a previous life and felt a huge need to look after number one. They have also, all 3, had deep suffering in their lives, but still have a cheerful outlook. Complicated creatures, Aries.  You are obviously very advanced, as all young people that come in here are.  I am impressed and glad. afro

Dear Laura,

I have never heard of Ophiuchus. How can that fit into Sagg?
Amazing, I keep learning new things. Do you have any info to give me on this sign, a website perhaps? Or, should I just google around and see what I can find?

I am a Scorpio, but my Mars is in Pisces which makes me a super gentle Scorpio. I don't identify with just about everything written about Scorpio's. I only identify with the idea of Pluto being the planet of regeneration. ... and I don't believe the 'scientists' who suddenly decide that Pluto is not a planet. They are just silly humans giving dis-info to the masses who havent a clue about astrology. If Einstein and Isaac Newton are prepared to study it properly, and Jung, then why believe these modern-day dis-info guys, cheesy

Hi Freedom,

I am a bit different from other Aries but I can be selfish in a way that I help others. Do they feel like soldiers and a need to lead like I do in my current life? I love being an Aries, acting without thinking, facing fears, and behaving a bit childish  smiley. I am also a Snake according to the Chinese Zodiac.

Ophiuchus is the 13th sign that is not counted in Astrology. There are three cardinal, fixed, and mutable and three of each element and the 13th sign leaves it unbalance. The Tropical Zodiac of 12 signs is considered inaccurate. At that star people website you posted, there is a page that talks about how astrology fits in the pyramids and at the top of the pyramid lies Ophiuchus.

Ophiuchus lies near the dark rift of the center of the Milky Way.

If you count Ophiuchus I am a Pisces so you are right but I consider myself more an Aries.

Here is the list of the 13 signs:

ARIES = APRIL 19 - MAY 13
TAURUS = MAY 14 - JUNE 19
GEMINI = JUNE 20 - JULY 20
CANCER = JULY 21 - AUG 9
LEO = AUGUST 10 - SEPTEMBER 15
VIRGO = SEPTEMBER 16 - OCTOBER 30
LIBRA = OCTOBER 31 - NOVEMBER 22
SCORPIO = NOVEMBER 23 - NOVEMBER 29
OPHIUCHUS = NOVEMBER 30 - DECEMBER 17
SAGITTARIUS = DECEMBER 18 - JANUARY 18
CAPRICORN = JANUARY 19 - FEBRUARY 15
AQUARIUS = FEBRUARY 16 - MARCH 11
PISCES = MARCH 12 - APRIL 18

Unconditional Love,

Jesse

Thanks Jesse, I will have to come back tomorrow or soon,  to check this out. It is way past my bedtime, ha ha ! After 3pm.

I am just reading so much , on other forums.

That is very interesting.  I don't know if I really feel about that.  I am a Taurus.  According to the 13 Zodiac table I would be an Aries and I definitely fit the Taurus mold.  I am also an Ox in Chinese, so I guess I'm bullheaded no matter what.

I also a long time ago read about astrological gates.  They're spread out through out the year and there are only four of them.  Since then I have not been able to find this information again, is anyone else knowledgeable on these?

Much Love,
Brandon April 26

Hey everyone

I never celebrate my birthday. I always mean to but when the time comes I'm so sad about growing older that I go into a depression. I was mean to my grandparents on my last birthday. haha

I'm a Scorpio, Nov. 3rd.

Hi Jesse,

Just wondered where you got your list of the Zodiac dates.  As long as I've ever read horoscopes for the past 50 years, I have always landed under Aries.  Under this list I follow under a completley different sign.

As much as I hate to admit it, I do sound more like one of the Aries people mentioned by Freedom!

Dear All,

Jesse listed the dates according to sidereal astrology.

There 2 main systems of Sign astrology: tropical and sidereal.

Tropical astrology is a type of astrology based on a zodiac whose points of reference are the tropics and is based on the idea that early astrologers defined the star signs according to the seasons in which the sun rose in them.

Sidereal astrology ties its signs of the zodiac to the actual constellations.

Some sidereal astrologers denounce tropical astrologers for failing to relate to the "actual heavens," seeing in this a fundamental degeneration of the subject. A small number of sidereal astrologers (such as Walter Berg) wish to include other constellations, such as Ophiuchus, in their zodiac and use 13 signs instead of 12.

However nearly all astrologers, tropical and sidereal, agree that the ecliptic should be divided into 12 equal segments to form the zodiac; they differ on where the zodiac begins.

Regardless I guess I got the best of both worlds - as I am actually 2 signs; officially I am  Sag while my undercover agent identity is that of Ophiucus:

The most recent interpretation is that the figure represents the healer Asclepius, who learned the secrets of keeping death at bay after observing one serpent bringing another healing herbs. To prevent the entire human race from becoming immortal under Asclepius' care, Zeus killed him with a bolt of lightning, but later placed his image in the heavens to honor his good works. It has also been noted that the constellation Ophiuchus is in close proximity in the sky to that of Sagittarius

Sorry guys donno but I always get this from friends "rigght you just HAD to be more interesting  rolleyes

Anyway if it puts your mind at ease they say:  Although Ophiuchus intersects the ecliptic, it is not a zodiacal sign in most versions of astrology.

Refs:

Here is the table of tropical and sidereal dates - I am sorry for this 'new' turn of events however you will have to decide with which Signs you want to go: the real constellations or the mass media astrology Wink

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zodiac#Table_of_constellations_vs._zodiac_signs

Jesse I have a question - your dates are calculated for this year? -
- the table is from 2002 I believe, and the days shift with leap years and positions - so I assume if one wants to be accurate they will have to calculate the exact date on they birth year.

The moral of the story: visit a reputable astrologer ...lol...  shocked   (this is fun!)

Smiley I highly recommend the Mayan system:
http://www.ourultimatereality.com/forums/fun-with-dreamspell-mayan-astrology-t1100.0.html

And at the end of the day just think!! this is important, you 'know' something as true (your astrological sign insights ) and you follow throughout and ..wow... it fits!! ... then funny thing you discover you were not that at all.
I mean if this is not "creating your own reality" then I can't give you a better more practical example.

Psht... tell us something we don't know Laura shocked

Are you an astrologer by chance?

This is very interesting, I am familiar with the lore but I am a scholar, not an astrologer so I'm not the most familiar with all the stars and stuff.

Thanks, a good reminder to ignore all of this astrological stuff we read.

I should have done more research before posting. I thought the Sidereal Zodiac had fixed dates similar to the Tropical Zodiac. Thanks Laura for pointing that out.

I didn't know that! My Astrology book says NOTHING about this. Don't forget though you also have a Moon sign, and a sign for every planet. I'll show you mine for an example.

Sun Sign    Scorpio

Moon Sign  Cancer

Rising Sign  Gemini

Sun           Scorpio

Moon         Cancer

Mercury      Sagittarius

Venus        Libra

Mars          Libra

Jupiter        Aquarius

Saturn        Scorpio

Uranus        Sagittarius

Neptune      Capricorn

Pluto          Scorpio

So its useless to say all Scorpios are alike. You must cast the chart and put them in the houses.

If you add Ophiuchus back in then its all different!

I thought the Sidereal didn't use Scorpio, I thought it was the Eagle?  huh

Peace

Wow, I find all of this very fascinating, but it explains why I have never truly gotten into Astrology.  I agree that different energies can influence things, and I find the universe amazing, but if done properly (some say it needs to be done with a couple of seconds) would you say there's something to horoscopes?

If I tried to figure all that out I'd never have time for anything else, and I'd have to call it my horrorscope.
