This story was sent to me today, and I'd like to share it with you. It brings forth the question of how well do we apply the biblical or other religious teachings in our life to further our spiritual growth, and how much are we really concerned about people we come in contact with in our daily life. It might be wise to remind ourselves often that all the people we meet are really an extension of us, that we are all one. and that ultimately we are all extensions of the highest spiritual source.

EXCUSE ME, ARE YOU JESUS?

As you read this think about what you would do!

"Excuse me, Are you Jesus?" This is really powerful and makes one think!!!! A few years ago a group of salesmen went to a regional sales convention in Chicago. They had assured their wives that they would be home in plenty of time for Friday night's dinner. In their rush, with tickets and briefcases, one of these salesmen inadvertently kicked over a table which held a display of apples. Apples flew everywhere. Without stopping or looking back, they all managed to reach the plane in time for their nearly missed boarding.

ALL BUT ONE !!! He paused, took a deep breath, got in touch with his feelings, and experienced a twinge of compassion for the girl whose apple stand had been overturned.

He told his buddies to go on without him, waved good-bye, told one of them to call his wife when they arrived at their home destination and explain his taking a later flight. Then he returned to the terminal where the apples were all over the terminal floor.

He was glad he did.

The 16 year old girl was totally blind! She was softly crying, tears running down her cheeks in frustration, and at the same time helplessly groping for her spilled produce as the crowd swirled about her, no one stopping and no one to care for her plight.

The salesman knelt on the floor with her, gathered up the apples, put them back on the table and helped organize her display. As he did this, he noticed that many of them had become battered and bruised; these he set aside in another basket.

When he had finished, he pulled out his wallet and said to the girl, "Here, please take this $40 for the damage we did. Are you okay?" She nodded through her tears. He continued on with, "I hope we didn't spoil your day too badly."

As the salesman started to walk away, the bewildered blind girl called out to him, "Mister...." He paused and turned to look back into those blind eyes. She continued, "Are you Jesus?"

He stopped in mid-stride, and he wondered. Then slowly he made his way to catch the later flight with that question burning and bouncing about in his soul: "Are you Jesus?" Do people mistake you for Jesus?

That’s our destiny, is it not? To be so much like Jesus that people cannot tell the difference as we live and interact with a world that is blind to His love, life and grace.

If we claim to know Him, we should live, walk and act as He would. Knowing Him is more than simply quoting Scripture and going to church. It's actually living the Word as life unfolds day to day.

You are the apple of His eye even though we, too, have been bruised by a fall. He stopped what He was doing and picked you and me up on a hill called Calvary and paid in full for our damaged fruit.

Thanks for the story.  IMHO that's what Christianity is all about.  I used to be a hospital and prison chaplain and worked with a lot of churches.  I'm sad to say that there weren't near enough Christians about whom it could be said:  "Christ is seen to live again."  sad

Although you are a part of divinity, you are exactly who you personally choose to be. We all have a free will to choose to be exactly who we are. This is proclaimed by all spiritual scripts, but it has not reached the peoples’ consciousness through millennia. It takes people like Adrian to try and drive the message home so we would finally get it. Choose wisely who you are !

Thank you for sharing your life experience with us. I guess this story is to remind us who we really are, and the fact that we are not disconnected individuals. If we are not kind to and concerned about others, we ultimately are not kind to ourselves and will create all sort of unbalances in our physical body as well as our other energy bodies.

An interesting story. Are you Jesus? Perhaps one needs to ask then the question who is this Jesus? The only begotten son. How come we all children of god and yet he is the only begotten?
So what is it the name implies, what is the meaning of the only begotten? Does it mean we do not exist then?
In  Australia the aboriginal people speak about Dream time and they call themselves the keepers of the dream. Dream as a singular, not plural (dreams). Could it be that we are the dream of one? Could it be that there is only one here? In which case yes mister, you are Jesus.

first I would like to thank melody for this wonderful story which I wholeheartly agree with.
Now, Hi Paul, welcome, what a wonderful entrance you have made, the best most interesting first post I have ever seen!
I hope you start as u mean to keep on in here!
I never even thought of the 'begotten ' part.  Maybe it means he chose to dare to come to earth to help us who didnt have eyes to see or ears to hear? I am not sure.
I bet u will get lots of very useful answers from the most loving people here, cos everyone on here is full of help and love. I wish I could answer.
My best thing is to thank Melody for starting this, and you for bumping it back so we can read it and ponder.

lots of love and light   smiley

Rise and Shine All ~ cool

I loved this one too when I read it. Thank you Melody for sharing this.

Paul, a very warm welcome to the forums. Great question and I am sure you will receive many points of view to consider what you believe about this. So, no one is going to tell you what to believe, just share one's view.

There is only One Child of God. We are in a sense the whole body of Christ. Individual cells making up the whole. Which part do we leave out? In the Bible, the question asked is how does the hand say to the foot, I have no need of you? Interesting. It really takes Divine Assistance of a Higher Mind to remove all separation and duality. Just sharing with you what I was asked to consider.

Freedom, thank you for Being you.

Love to All in Divine Spirit,

Julia
