Smiley This is my first introduction to EFT and I found out that is:

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) is an emotional, needle free version of acupuncture that is based on new discoveries regarding the connection between your body's subtle energies, your emotions, and your health. EFT has been reported successful in thousands of cases covering a huge range of emotional, health and performance issues. It often works where nothing else will.

Here is an introductory video:
http://www.emofree.com/splash/video_popup.asp

The technique can easily be learned and the whole series can be found on YouTube:

Hello Talker

and thank you for bringing this to my attention. I have visited your page many times, however I will have to be honest I can't stay there for to long, it seems that the black background versus white foreground tires my vision - my work is mostly on computer and 12 hrs/day sometimes going into wee hours in front of the screen is not very easy, so I apologise for not being able to linger.

However I will try EFT for sure as I am always excited by any new and revolutionary forms of healing.

Ah yes, my battles in mastering that delightful, highly usable and neat program called WordPress. Have to credit use of EFT, for saving my normal insanity. Switching over from the free Blogger platform, to a self-hosted site was a tough learning curve. While I'm no stranger to computer repair, it's a horse of another color when diving into what actually makes any program WORK on a computer. When I was doing freebie computer repairs, people thought that I was literate with all computer programs. No way are the two processes the same. Long story short, my requirements for a true blogging platform, was not met by the standard  themes offered for WP.
Themes are the heart and soul of WP. Wrong theme equals clumsy clunky application. Getting no response from experienced WP users with my plea for help, had to wiggle and jiggle to get what I now use. Three major projects held off on are, changing the background color, increasing the font size, and altering the header. Mastering those three areas is like a first grade school child jumping into actual satelite design. Help, help anyone out there listening?  Far to many were the apologies and prayers for some language used in arriving to the point the blog is currently functioning at. Off subject a bit, but I did mention EFT.

LOL!! Hello Talker

I totally sympatise with you I know exactly what are you talking about. Anyway if you are looking on how to modulate WordPress here is the best way to go about it.
http://www.learnwebdevelopment.com/customizing-wordpress-websites.html
They have a lot of free tutorials so you can see how it works.
I have a mind to check out Jomla and Wordpress eventually however just to much for me to keep my mind super busy!!
3 years ago I bought a Flash course from them and it made the world of difference for me, so you cannot go wrong if you decide to go with it. I totally wouch for their training.

All the best!

Hello Laura,
Give my blog a try now, should be easier on the eyes when reading it. Thank you also for the WP link. Made real progress and saved $150.00 in the hours spent taming the background and fonts as mentioned. Maybe I over did the thing! Only the header to master now. EFT to the rescue of my normal insanity.

Hello Talker

I visited your page. Is not as black as before .. grin but in terms of organizing I think before was better.
Sorry I tend to be very hard I'm the type that never tires to improve what I don't like  grin
I have some suggestions:
- make the font a bit smaller or a different style
- find a way to change the background colour of your posts or just the general background
- the menus/ can you give more padding on those columns, definetelly make the font of a different colour and smaller so they can capture more the user attention?
Here is an example- these are actually free themes you can download them: http://www.themescore.com/?r=adw
or this one - which I htink is really clean and easy to read
http://www.freewpthemes.net/preview/flashyweb

If you goggle enough you can find a lot of free ways to change and customise your theme (ask Julia or Darrell Wink  http://zensuuni.wordpress.com/about/)

love you Talker don't be thinking I am to hard on you (you can do it !! no need for EFT all you need is to not take it so seriously, try to have some fun with it)

Hello again Talker Smiley

I wanted to thank you. If not for WordPress difficulties I would have totally forgotten about where my passion lies.
(remember my flash course? )  There was a time when I was crying desperately about my helplessness - I was tired, exhausted, with a bad cold and headache yet pushing myself to finish the a part of my project this one chapter very important to me, when I dropped my cup of coffee on my laptop and I lost 2 weeks of work!! What was worse is that I was late already producing work.
At that desperate time Adrian's message come and helped me calm my inner world, find the energy to re-do what I have lost. It is so difficult to re-do what you once have created in Spirit inspiration. However the strength come back and in the spring of this year I was done.
This summer I finally took some time off work. First real Hollyday in 18 years. After I was back I was lost because I got detached from what i was doing before and the motivation seemed to have gone once I achieved to finish that project.

Now, talking to you about WordPress and searching for solutions made me remember how much I love this stuff. Optimising web pages estethics is something I could never tire of. I have to start working more for myself:) I think part of this addiction with posting stuff in this forum is just my procrastination away from my fears, the greater part is also my deep desire to be of help this awakening world.
If not for you I would have never seen it.

Thank you and I love you - Laura

Aloha Laura and All,
I truly understand your words.
This tale ranks high, on the scale of irony and the bizarre. The large square peg into a small round hole, pales in comparison to that which materialized
in my reality. Yes, yes, yes, so much points to the fact, that one creates their own reality. One is deep into total and pure insanity to have materialized that which has unfolded. I long for my old companion (normal insanity). Up in the quotes are some recent statistics on my blog. The original thought of a blog, was to leave a trail of this old mans life experiences for the kids to have, after I cross over. Over the decades, have experienced (no job, one job, three jobs at one time) to sustain the family. Time for the kids was at a premium. Yet in their adulthood, they still toss around tales of great joy about our togetherness events. Was led to expand what was being posted. Enter the need for a more specific blogging platform. The famous Blogger platform was readily mastered. One does not own the Blogger platfrom, and if Blogger, for any reason went kaput, so did all ones posts. Enters a new phase of where I had no desire to be. The go around of Domain name, a hosting site, and of course WordPress. Enter the 900 pound gorilla of learning a bit of programming to achieve more of what was desired in my blog. Programming is not where I desired to spend time. So what am I spending way to much time on! Yup, time spent on, suprise, clearing spam and doing some programming. Ready to close down the blog and make it private for the kids. What path was my desire to be following? Validating the words of Jesus, as stated in John 14:12-14. That part of "the works that I do" has long been in my thoughts, contrary to my religious upbringing, which is expressed in some blog posts. Proving that a (something) works, was part of my career while employed.
In comes an undesired learning curve. Repairing computers was no problem, as my background was electro / mechanical. Learning the (how and what) of computer programs took on an ugly taste, in place, of what I wanted to be doing. Yes, I tend toward being intense in what I do, in all that I take interest in. Is what allowed me achieve my long ago, written goals. Huge success, no, but successful enough to honestly say ( root out the negs buried deep within) and progress is made. Ah, and there is the big gorilla of all, ridding ones self of negative beliefs.
Boasting, no, ego, no, just proving that (ones beliefs) does, in fact matter. Lots of water over the dam, since the forty cents an hour days.

Smiley Hello Talker

I honestly believe you have done a GREAT job by recording all those thoughts - and if you said you did it for your children is even more to be admired. I wish you would not close your blog, but I have no idea how expensive is to keep it up. Today I read more of it. The content is of great value.

I wanted to show you something. I actually wanted to show it to you ever since I saw your picture. Smiley
Go here: http://www.st-bonaventure.ca/gallery/Cardparty.htm then look on left columns of pictures the third one from top. Looks just like you - another yourself as Adrian would say. Smiley  That is Friar David, and one of the most wonderful people I ever come across. He was a father of 4 children and about 8 foster ones most of which with all kind of problems. When his wife died of lung cancer he gave all his possesion to his children and become a Franciscan friar. He is doing great work at the school with children, he started this 'feeding hungry kids breakfast thing' and all kind of similar stuff to great to mention here. Also from a farm guy and doing all kind of odd jobs he is now a computer literate. He was a great support for me in times of madness. Always there, never judging, forever kind. Anyway when I first looked at your picture I said: oh my God this is Friar David Smiley Now you talking about your life struggles and your children ...made me remember about it.

You are a great person, and humbled to have meet you. At the end of the days I guess people such as you and others make all the difference.

Hello Laura,
Thank you for the gracious words and encouragement. While not a millionaire, just barely in the thousandaire category, money is not the issue. It's the track being traveling on that needs to be switched.

Without going into detail, do try this:
Extend either arm, arms length out in front of your eyes, thumb, index and middle finger pointing toward the eyes.
While holding the head still, draw a large figure eight while following that figure eight movement of the fingers with the eyes.
Breathe slow deep inhale / exhale breaths while doing the eye tracking. If you drew an actual colored figure eight around your eyes and then moved that drawn eight forward is the path the eyes would be following.
A minute of this will make a huge difference while you are at the long hours of monitor / keyboard action. You'll see the (tired and beat) feeling and strain beautifully diminished. Should do a post on this and more.
Do believe the monk is a step better in looks.

I have a question about EFT. I have been using EFT when ever negative feels pop up
after using it for a while I realize that I always feel the negative feeling in the same place.
I always feel it near my heart in the middle of my chest near my throat.

I was just wandering what does this mean? Also does this mean I can do it faster and tap
only one point?

Thanks Again

Hello emon878 and All,
There is a bit more of info needed for a better response, in order to not bypass, what could be more of a physical condition than an emotional one.
It all ties in together though, don't misunderstand that . May be a Chakra routine is needed for best corrective action. How often does it happen! Age factor! Same time of the day or night! Is school, home or work conditions harmonious! Diet! EFT and Chakra routines do a wonderful and corrective action, but do keep in mind that we are Spirit, Soul and Body. Both EFT and Chakra routines, are put to the test unfairly, by not giving serious consideration to correcting the causative conditions involved. Could be the fifth and sixth chakra's being triggered by certain events in your daily life experiences. Give a short review to your daily activities and how you actually feel about them, to better know what to proceed with.

Talker gave you a very good answer, and I would like to underline what he said. Next time your heart and chest described feelings come over, try to 'observe' them - instead of shutting them down with EFT. Get to a quiet place where you are undisturbed, and try some introspection.

In quietness 'observe' your body, try to understand what is trying to tell you.

Then go gently to the source of your discomfort. If emotions... probe them.. do your best to find out what stands at the cause of them - always look at yourself! - i.e. do not think: "X or Y did this, or didn't do that to me" - instead try to think: "hmmm this happened, X or Y said/did/didn't do this, and that makes me feel ____ why ?!? why do I feel like so____"
Usually in this way you will uncover gaps in you, most of the time something tied up with 'unfulfilled expectations' or "not living up to expectations'... when at this stage try to understand if those expectations are a result of something that you feel you have to achieve or just things that you don't really want to do but they introduce a sense of guilt.
At times you may even feel the sense of abandonment. A lot of the times you will put everything on the our world: i.e. Mom or Dad are not what you feel they should be ..or ..that there is some conflict that was never solved.

Your parents come from different faiths - this means that for you, your own is somewhere in the middle and never one or the other.

What we experience as children has a great impact upon us - and also there lies the wisdom of whom we are, and what we need to overcome in this lifetime.

Instead of EFT I would recommend other ways. Remember EFT is to be used in emergencies like when you are in school stressed and you need a quick 'fix' ..or .. later on in life when older and you still haven't reached to ability to deprogram yourself through natural means. If you continue to use this you by=pass your natural way of knowing yourSelf. And this is one of the major things why we incarnated in this physical plane.

So, before EFT when you have time use introspective meditation. Get by your side a copy of the Bible and donno Budhist bible or something (..lol.. I have a book of Budhist essentials - that does it to me, but at the same time I have others).. and when your feelings are overwhelming open and read a fragment. You will find that the fragment will offer you some insight in what you are going through at that moment. Put it down then in quietness explore your feelings and try to find the "truth" behind them.

Smiley

Remember we are here to find out what really makes us happy, what really do we want. Then break free from imposed expectations and go and create that which sits within our essence.

When that time comes then we are truly happy and nothing ever can change that. I admire Buddhism a lot, and it helped me a lot understanding the source of my unhappiness and the karma rhythms - but I feel that in some ways it keeps one trapped in the fact that we can never truly be happy - this is not true. Everlasting happiness and bliss is at hand. And that happens when Christ within gets activated.

The rest will always tell us what they think or what they want out for us (mostly parents) - but nobody actually knows what you need but yourself.

And your feelings are your guides to that knowledge. Of everlasting happiness and bliss on earth in this life and beyond.

First of all I thank you both for you quick and insight full responses,

First I will try and better explain my feelings and when this happens. This usually happens to me
at school, not at a specific time but because of a trigger. The trigger is always usually a social trigger
and the feeling I guess would be abandonment as Laura said. Because what usually happens is someone
will say or do something or whisper something or I won't hear the entire sentence someone says
and I will interpret it the WORST possible way. What I usually feel is something along the lines of "They did/said this
because they don't like me, they don't want to be my friend anymore" (Writing this I feel pretty childish the
way this sounds. But when it actually happens inside me it feels much more complicated and sophisticated)

I think that's the best way I could describe it. When it comes to diet I do eat meat, but I'll never have like a
whole meal of just meat. It be combination of rice, meat and a vegetable or two.

And also another thing I found out was because reading the two replies and thinking about it made me and happy,
not sure why but I am glad it did. What what I realized is that even happy positive feelings I always feel in the same
place as well (at the center of the chest, exactly where I feel my negative feelings.) All my life all my feelings have always been concentrated in that area and I always thought that was normal till in the EFT intro video he always says
Where do you feel this feeling, and I realized I always feel all feelings in pretty much the exact same place.

And also thanks for the tip about Chakra clearing I have seen that video and I will do it once a day?

And Laura thanks a lot for this response and all your other responses as well,

I usually get these negative feelings when I am at school or with people, so it can be hard to get to
a quiet place right when I feel these feelings. But thanks for the advice I try do something along these
lines when I get home after feeling these feelings. But cannot get into a meditative state by myself yet
I can with the help of NLP audios.

Also it is quite amazing how your other two points related to me so greatly. First your tip about the bible and
the Buddhist book. This tip made be remember what happened 3 years ago. 3 years ago I was in grade 8 and
for whatever reason I was feeling down. And that day we were doing something with bible studies so it wouldn't
look weird if I just went to the back and grabbed a bible. But for some reason this is exactly what I did and
flipped to a random page and read a random verse. And I remember this really helped me, I felt better and it gave me
an answer. And at this time I was not a wise? as I am now. What I mean is I hadn't started this journey consciously then.

But I only did this once, not sure why I never did it again, I don't think I had a bible that was easy to understand
in my house then. I think I will do this now, when ever I can. But another thing I thought about was that this
wouldn't do much because I have been reading about Christianity and how they are not really helping us, and
the way it controls its peoples. So I was thinking wouldn't the bible maybe have a negative effect? But then maybe
its not really the bible that is giving me the answer but my higher-self? my subconscious? giving me the answer but
using the bible as the vehicle to get the answer to me?

Also I share your views on Buddhism 100%. I also think it is very helpful because there is a lot of wisdom contained
in it. And also they meditation practices and stuff like that. But I went to Sunday school for Buddhism for 2 years
and it did feel really negative, and it did really feel like I couldn't really be happy all the time. I think this was
what I was trying to get cleared up with my first post about Buddhism in the religions section.

On a side note, ever since being on this path and learning a lot I had always wanted to talk to my parents about
it and I wanted to enlighten them too. And over last weekend I finally got that opportunity, forgot how the
conversation started exactly but it was amazing. It turns out that my parents are also on a good path. My father
listens to Ajahn Brahm who is really a wise monk, not like the dogmatic corrupt unwise monks in Sri Lanka
my dad always says. Also he also knew a lot about the stuff I was talking about like Astral Planes, OBE. But I guess
the biggest surprise was so did my mom. She has realized that the church's teachings are not true and that they are
keeping things from us. Her enlightenment came from a book shes reading '50 lives, 50 masters' something along
those lines where the author talks about reincarnation and how she can remember her lives and how even in the bible
they talk about reincarnation. Not sure why but I really wanted to share this experience with you all. Thanks for listening.

And Love and Great appreciation for all the help

Thanks a lot.

P.S - Before writing this I thought this was going to be a really short post, turned out to be the opposite lol.
