Baki and Wavepsychic
Did you notice how many times in the last two posts that you said "I"
Seems that Adrian was asking why there is a need to prove or perform these things. Is it ego?
Is it the "I"
By using "I", I am referring to me, the one sitting here typing this right now. It is not an ego or One with all sort of thing.
The "need", as you refer to, you may ask, is my desire to further realise my God abilities. I have said it before and if need be I will keep saying it. I don't just want to just or only hear people tell me I can do something. I want to be able to actually do it! I want to experience it! I want to know what it is like to have such an ability - I rather prefer to call them abilities rather then powers being that they are natural aspects of ourselves. And as natural as they are, I see know harm in wanting to awaken, harness and use them - regardless of our own personal reasons.
"any focus on mystical abilities will inevitably give the Ego what it wants"
"I suggest you ask yourself first what you will achieve in doing so."
Seth
Well Why stop at the "Law of Attraction"? That could be used to tempt the ego as well, once it realise that you can attract anything you desire to it or you. The ego can be tempted or stimulated by many things, not just psychic abilities. People with now psychic powers are still driving by their ego, so I don't really see the difference

. However I do understand what you and Adrian are trying to do

. Also I am in no way trying to push away the advices you two give to us. It is really nice of you two to look out for us and warn us of the impending consequences of our actions and choices.
Dear Seth,
From my experience the conscious mind or ego, which evaluates through past experience or societal
conditioning, will form beliefs and judgments that are limiting to the "power" that you may
be speaking of. The mind tries to understand everything and if it can't figure it out it will rationalize.
What it is not prepared to deal with it will store in the subconscious.
Yes exactly.
All of these desires can be traced back to the Ego in one form or another.
In the stone age and among remote tribes today, who are unpolluted by "modern society", no one cares in the slightest what another looks like, and they do not even wear many clothes to hide it. They just accept each other as they are - which is the way it should be, and why many of these cultures are in many ways more "advanced" than humans today. Many confuse technological advancement with Spiritual advancement. Technology is meaningless in the grand scheme of things.
Very often the desire for a certain type of body originates from a society that has created stereotypes and archetypes of what the ideal body should look like.
This is true, but they also didn't have mirrors back then either other then the reflection of the water. Not that they would need them.
Yes I do believe the society people live in play a role in how and why of what people look like or want to loo like. When I lightened my skin color it was mostly do to my own desire to do so. Though I can't state that I didn't have any influence on that whatsoever. The name calling and insults didn't bother me as one might think but I do believe that it played a role in me wanting to be a lighter shaded person. There are people even to this day that still makes fun of me for other reason, but I don't care. I am who I am and I look the way I am happy with - and that's my story I'm sticking with it

Many others have been created, increasingly as well, by the "vanity industry" who actually create what they claim to be desirable attributes so they can market the products that purport to realise them often by using long chemical names, which I, as a former organic chemist, know do not exist. But to the consumer they sound very impressive so they must be impressive.
Personally, I don't believe all this junk is worth the hype. These products, They carry long term effects. Outer beauty is only skin deep and a illusion at that.
Over the years numerous people have contacted me because they want "powers" of all sorts. When Dragon Ball Z was around I was contacted by numerous teenagers who wanted to make psi balls and other such things to impress their friends and live the part.
I remember those days. This show has, for some strange reason, a very powerful influence on teenagers and surprisingly enough even adults! Many people I knew of over the net or in person including myself was influenced into the ways of chi/ki/qi, whatever you want to call it, by watching this show. It was something about it that was so pulling and instilling a desire to learn more about the mysteries of Ki. Well, those days are over for me anyways

- but it was fun to dream it

Also Adrian how did it make you feel when those people where seeking you out just to teach some off the wall nonsense like that? I'm sure you didn't intend for you work to be exploited or practiced as such. Spiritual enlightenment has nothing to do with what is on that show.
Inner abilities as a means of further development, such as Telekinesis, is fine - even the Tibetan Monks and others do that as a core part of their training - but most desire for these abilities originates from the Ego out of a desire to impress others.
In Love and Light,
Adrian.
I get what you mean by the ego, but one should still learn these things if one desires without the ego suggesting you to do so. I tempt my ego all the time and I win the majority of the time I do. Whenever I do something that I really enjoy doing that doesn't really have a profound meaning to it, I always ask myself why am I doing this and for what reason or gain from it.
