To be honest I wasn't sure if I should post this, because its to long & Theoretical. Basically every Chakra can be closed by a Negative Emotion & opened by its transmuted Virtue. I have been on a quest to find the Virtues that open the Chakra & my work isn't completed yet. One should be able to use Virtues while concentrating on a Chakra to help open it! This is not just for Meditation, it is also a life style, where you can keep the chakras open by being mindful of the Virtues. If someone feels I have a Virtue wrong or something that isn't an Emotion let me know & I can look into it and make changes. Also keep in mind that these Emotion/Virtues have different definitions & I am presenting the definition that feels the most holy. Feel free to look up these words for yourself. I am doing this because I strongly believe that our emotions effect our Chakras & energy flow. I do not go for all the lighting rainbow candles, the rocks, or mystic oils. I just don't feel they will benefit people much.

I shall start with the Root Chakra & fear. Everyone even Adrian says "Fear is the worst" "nothing to fear but fear itself" but what do people DO about it? I have heard that the opposite of Fear is hope, faith, or courage. These are to simple & do not neutralize Fear. So I did a lot of research & came up with the fallowing. Let me know if you agree or disagree. Non-virtues are black & Virtues are in color.

Root Chakra
Fear – a distressing emotion aroused by impending danger, evil, pain
Fortitude: Strength of mind that allows one to endure pain or adversity with courage
Anger – a strong feeling of displeasure and belligerence aroused by a wrong; wrath
Fortitude: calm and patient courage in trouble or pain
Languor – lack of energy or vitality; sluggishness, lack of spirit or interest; listlessness; stagnation
Vitality: exuberant physical strength or mental vigor: a person of great vitality.

Sacral Chakra
Passion – strong amorous feeling or desire; strong sexual desire, lust; the state of being acted upon or affected by something external
Apathy: absence or suppression of passion, emotion, or excitement. Lack of interest or concern, indifference.
Intemperate -- excess in any kind of action or indulgence; any immoderate indulgence of the appetites or passions
Temperance: Moderation and self-restraint, as in behavior or expression. The act of becoming, or state of being, intemperate

Solar Plexus
Impious -- Lacking due respect or dutifulness
Piety: the quality or state of being pious, having or showing appropriate respect or regard for parents or others
Weakness -- the property of lacking physical or mental strength
Will Power: control of one's impulses and actions; self-control, strength to carry out one's decisions, wishes, or plans.

Heart Chakra
Envy -- a feeling of discontent or covetousness with regard to another's advantages, success, possessions
Contentment: the state of being contented; satisfaction; ease of mind
Hate – to dislike intensely or passionately; feel extreme aversion for or extreme hostility toward; detest
Unconditional Love: affection with no limits or conditions; complete love
Mercilessness -- without mercy; having or showing no mercy; pitiless; cruel
Compassion: a deep awareness of and sympathy for the suffering of others and wanting to do something about it.

Sound Chakra
Duplicity -- acting in bad faith; deception by pretending to entertain one set of intentions while acting under the influence of another
Sincerity: The quality or condition of being sincere; genuineness, honesty, and freedom from duplicity.

Agnya Chakra
Ignorance -- The condition of being uneducated, unaware, or uninformed.
Insight: an understanding of the motivational forces behind one's actions, thoughts, or behavior; self-knowledge, a feeling of understanding, Wisdom

Halo Chakra
Possessiveness -- excessive desire to possess or dominate

Hello Wavepsychic,

That's quite a descriptive rendering  of negative vs positive, or rather virtuous emotions you've done above! My only objection so far - apathy to me is a negative emotion. Is there a possibility of coming with something else instead?

Also, how do you propose a person should practice this change of the emotions into virtuous? Any methodology you can suggest or come up with?

Thank you Melody. I have worked very hard, looking up definitions for many many words, finding there opposites ext.

I understand. Looking back over the definition I used it can seem like it means lack of Excitement & Joy. Excitement & Joy are very important for increasing our Vibrations & balancing Karma in our life.

Apathy however is a very detached feeling. Lao Tzu had lots of Apathy. Apathy brings freedom from suffering. I used Apathy because the Buddha had to over come 4 inner demons & Passion was one of them. It is more of a feeling of indifference. Consider it a lack of interest in things & activities, NOT the lack of care for other people or forms of life. If you however still feel as thought Apathy is too extreme then use Temperance instead. There could even be a better Virtue to open the 2nd Chakra. This is just what I came up with from studying that Chakra.

First of all be aware of & remember the Virtues. I suggest focusing on the Root Chakra by pretending to see a "stop light at night with its glowing redness" at the base of the spine. Have it spinning like a vortex in the water & say the word Fortitude. Project the feeling of enduring hard ship in life & conquering pain at that point of focus. Then go to the next Chakra & imagine a orange sun set. Say the word Apathy or Temperance & project any feelings you associate with self-restraint. Do this with all of the Chakras anytime you do a chakra exercise. The most important thing is that you become mindful of the Virtues to the point where you remember them in life. Anytime you get annoyed you should think of "Serenity" & then ask yourself do you really care about what you are upset about? Say Apathy or Detachment. If you feel tired say "Vitality" and remind yourself that energy comes from within. If this Meditation doesn't work for you however then at least you know what some of the virtues are.

Feel free to comment.
