Just an opinion here. But wouldn't trying to be an "astral pimp" and have "astral sex" be controversial to why people have obes?  The point is to realize where were headed and what an illusion life is, not to be greedy and selfish.  But, then again, if were supposed to realize all of our desires for simply being an illusion, and then to move on from it, maybe you've got the right idea, although i doubt it.

Robert Monroe specified in his book "Journeys out of the body" that it is possible to have sex on the astral plane. You can't compare it with earthly sex, it is more a union of the energy fields of both souls (like melting together)...

Hello Astral Pimp,

You have raised an important issue, that of sex, in view of our physical existence and Our Ultimate Reality.

I ask though a question, why would one have a need to experience sex in the Astral plane, instead of the physical plane?

In the physical plane, the sex originally seemed to be intended for reproduction. This is very obvious in the animal world, where it is engaged in for the sole purpose of reproduction only during the mating season, and abstained from at all other times. Amongst all the mammals living on Earth, it is only the human beings who engage in sex at any time, mostly not to reproduce.

So a good question to ask would be why do the homo sapience engage in sex at any time, and do not view it only as a reproduction activity?

The reason for it might be that being intelligent they have discovered a source of pleasure, and were determined to use it as such, to feel the pleasure. Why the need to feel pleasure? Maybe for the same reason why people use drugs nowadays, to dull the feeling of boredom, or failure, or any other negative emotion that arises from the everyday existence.

It is interesting to note, that this sole mental determination of using sex as a pacification drug, might have caused the human beings’ physical bodies to readjust, and to keep the required hormonal levels to engage in sex at any time, which is not the case with animals. For them the hormone levels only increase during the mating season.

Men have also discovered that sex is a relaxant, it can provide an overall energy boost, a sense of well-being, of feeling alive, and that of a purely sensory and sensual gluttony. It can also be used to get rid of, even if momentarily, of one’s tensions and negative emotions. When more evolved, one can even achieve sentience through sex, a beyond perceptual experience.

Now, the important questions: if those effects can be obtained with a physical partner, why to search for sex in the Astral plane? Because the person:

-   does not have a physical partner and feels he/she has no perspective of finding one any time soon;
-   has sexual problems and believes they would not be present in some other plane of existence;
-   is dissatisfied or even disgusted with physical sex, but would want to experience the good effects that sex can offer;
-   yearns to continue a communion with a deceased partner;
-   has not found the beyond the sensory elements with a physical partner?

One should really be very clear of one’s motivations in seeking anything, whether in real life or in any other planes of existence.

As a rule, the mystics, or people who had decided to pursue a spiritual path, had abstained from any physical sex, because it amplified the physical pleasure vibrations and precluded one from getting beyond the physical plane.

However, a number of religious, spiritual, occult and mystical groups have practices whereby sexual energy is used to achieve a beyond physical-sensual effect. Tantric Yoga is one example of such a practice. Gnostic teachings also used sex for “spiritual transformation” purposes. With some Gnostic groups, the usual physical sex is considered to be a low-grade activity that keeps one encased in the physical body. Instead, they use the heightened energy of the sexual union to catapult beyond the physical.

Here is the basic logic:

The female-male polarity (negative and positive charge) when joined together in a sexual act create a powerful battery. The energy thus created is usually dissipated in the regular physical sex. This energy is however harnessed in those special practices, and is send up the spine of both partners, helping to attain heightened, beyond physical states, and a sense of total union.

Through many years of meditation, mystics can achieve heightened energy states on their own, without a sexual partner. However, it is believed that harnessing energy in a special way during a sexual act would speed up the process.

Love is the highest energy vibration there is. Unfortunately, none of the practices above really have the love vibration in the center of their practices. They seem to concentrate on the technical aspect of harnessing of sexual energy and thus achieving the desired energy unity effect.

I believe the effect of the union of two souls, the melting together of energies, can be achieved with a physical partner when true Love vibrations are present.

I question whether any experience in the Astral would be based on Love vibrations.

I also wonder why would one want to seek Astral sex? Is it because one cannot find a true Love partner in the real world, because one cannot get attuned to the Love vibrations in the real world?

I have read from Monroe I think that during astral projection, any intense feeling of anger, fear, or sex ends the experience of astral projection.

The conclusion I have come with is that these are physical things. The astral is not made for having sex so if you try, you can be really disappointed of finding yourself back in the physical.

I think that if you manage AP you'll soon forget these human primary desires and you will wish something more consistent.

Wonderfully put in very simple terms Lyes.  I agree on all points.  The astral realm exists as a natural place to evolve to after death to realize that desires are earthly and in reality fruitless and pointless.  To want or desire something in the astral before your actually residing there would be a very "physical" thought form and would correspondingly pull you back to earth.  I think though, that perhaps if the motive was love, and the "melting" of two souls together, more as a union of pure energy as an expression mutual love(the STRONGEST and PUREST energy) more then a "sex/pleasure" motive, then one could definitely experience it and it would probably be a VERY moving experience. I think? Ha. All based on theory here......

Hi,.....i would like to make a comment here.  My mother language it is Spanish, i apologize of errors.

I have experienced in my dreams having sex and it is like even better than a real physical experience.
The energy was almost magical and the orgasm amazing. I have also wake up after the dream and i wasn't touching myself and i thought i woke up because of the powerfull experience.
I'm am not sure about astral sex meaning or even astral meaning, but i am looking for words of human experiences like in this forum, not in a way of learning but in a way of discovering unswers within myself.

Plus something else, if having sex reproduce hormones which they give us life, why we see sex just for reproduction.

hi, interesting discussion. I think it is not correct to compare humans with animals or to even suggest that animals got it right by having hormonal activity during certain times only and that....because animals do it for reproductive purposes only humans are somehow inferior when it comes to the sex act. In the Bible book  Song of songs   there are very clear sexual references  as a culmination in marriage. This reference of course is an allegory of the marriage between the soul and the spirit and that is the highest aim we can have on this plain if indeed it can be achieved here at all.

I know very little about Astral travel but from what I understand the sex act in reflecting the union of 2 or even unlimited "souls" seems to be a similar culmination nay, rather much higher since there would be no physical nor moral nor cultural restraints. I call it walking on the highway.
