It is interesting that God does not treat all his children in the same way in regard of them asking and receiving. In a rich family, a child’s every need is catered to and the child gets (from the God?) everything he or she asks for. Actually, the child’s needs are even anticipated before even formulating the asking in his head.
In a poor family, on the other hand, no amount of asking and desiring a material object, even in regard of having sufficient amount of food, would be answered or catered to by the same God.
So one child, that of the rich, has a full mastery of the Law of Attraction, and the other child, that of the poor is deficient and does not have such a mastery of the same “physical” law?
So how different is the asking of a one year old child who is asking for food? The rich kid does not even have to ask for it, he simply gets it. Both children are innocent, yet the almighty God does not treat their asking equally. Why?
Well, the New Ages have a very interesting answer. It is really your free will that put you in a position of being poor. Before you came to this planet, you have decided to be poor, because you have decided you needed such an experience, and therefore this is also how God wants to experience itself by your being poor. So he is not going to give you stuff you are asking for. It is your karma. And you wanted it in exactly this way.
Yet the New Age treatment of karma is very different from ancient texts. In ancient times karma meant the law of cause of effect. You committed a crime in a previous life, and God puts you in such a situation in the new life (and this is not punishment, simply the law of cause and effect, for you to get it that there is such a law) so you would learn how wrong it was for you to commit such a crime. It was not of your choosing, rather, it was God, as a good parent he is, teaching you.
It is only very recently that reincarnation was treated as something you choose for yourself what type of life you are going to have – rich or poor. So therefore no amount of asking as a child would change it because you wanted to experience to be poor to begin with, or you wanted to be in the war zone and experience the terror an other inhuman atrocities. And even if you change your mind, and want to have something better and even have all those goodies the world can offer that the rich kids have, will change nothing. You are locked in it. (Because this is how God wants to experience himself?)
