Actual evidence?

Hi everyone,

I know that the mayan race was VERY advanced and made many discoveries etc.  But isnt 2012 just the end of one of the counting systems they had for time, days, years and etc?  I remember somewhere hearing that several of the other counts corresponded with important world events? Anyone know what im talking about here, or know what any of those events are?  I dont know, im still very confused about the whole deal with 2012?

The best summary that I could come up with is taken from Geoff Stray. It includes a description of the counting system, of which, I believe you may be thinking of the Mayan "long count". Mr. Stray wrote a very thorough book on 2012, and the link will take you to a nice summary/extract from that book. What I''ve found in reading about 2012 is that there is no real consensus among "scholars" on the point of what, if anything, we can expect to happen on or about December 21, 2012. I'd probably suggest we have 'good thoughts' and hope for the best.

Has anybody thought the calender stops due to time travel. The bio rhythms of the earth also drop off the chart in the same year. Instead of thinking of the end how about a new beginning.

The final outcome will be determined by the state of human consciousness at the time.

Hmmm only replying three months late...haha. Sorry for the lateness of my reply/post, however my computer had a virus, and I had to raise funds and time to get it fixed.  Now that it's made a full recovery....

I thank you all for the great information you have provided. And it has cleared up all my concerns and most of my questions.

However the one question I have remaining is not what is going to happen in 2012, becuase no one really knows for absolute SURE, but, other counts the mayans had, when the ended, or when a new cycle began in one, did those dates correspond with any specific major events in world history?

The Mayan calendars were never actually intended for prophecies as such - they were most based upon observation of the cosmos, and cycles of change.  All of the current interpretations for the long count calendar are human ideas.

All we know is that these Universal cycles are predictions based upon fact and not mere prophecies. The Maya would not have known about the events in the past that have been associated with past "ages", but the fact they happened neverthless makes their calendars and predictions all the more impressive.

Thank you Adrian for clearing that up for me.  I never got the point that it was universal cycles that they were mapping, and not just the earth's path threw it.

Sometimes, I've to talk about the new energies and changing ..So many people can feel it..
And many things happen in our world..in last years.

But we have responsibilities at that point...The actual evidence ,will change according to our choices..

Thank you very much for the link to an interesting website. Indeed, there are changes happening at this time on Earth, like changing of the axes and melting of the ice masses. The question is, are these phenomena really out of the ordinary?

If we take only most recent history, then indeed from this perspective it is highly irregular, and out of ordinary “order”. On the other hand, if one goes and examines the history of the Earth, one finds out that our planet has flipped around it's poles and magnetic centers quite a few times. It has also experienced in succession warm and cold spells (ice ages) of extended periods and magnitudes.

I have recently watched a documentary about a great mountain ice massive that is melting. One thousand years ago it was 1 km high. But 5000 years ago it was not there either. Apparently that has been happening in succession – disappearing and coming back of this glacier.

Yes, indeed, we were very lucky to have lived for centuries during some relatively  sheltered and weather wise stable times on this planet, and maybe this is why the material age had progressed and took hold so significantly. So now is the time to shake thing a little bit, so people will discover and go back to their spiritual nature.

Earth and the Creator are wise. They provide periods of time when human beings can exercise their wills to their fullest, and they present them with challenges they cannot resolve, and have to face who they really are – living spirits.
