OK I completely give up so I am just going to post it here. This Video has to do with Vitamin B12. Although Vitamin B12 is produced by Bacteria, meat and dairy are said to be good sources of this Vitamin. Plant based foods are said not to contain any Vitamin B12. The video claims Vitamin B12 is necessary for Red Blood Cell, DNA, and Nerve Tissue. So where do Vegans get their Vitamin B12?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Q0bljcr930

Hmmm, is B12 really a vital supplement?  Do we really need B12?  I'm sure it's already been mentioned in these forums several times, but I just finished doing an extensive search myself and apparently B12 cannot be found in any plant tissue.  It seems that it only comes from animals.  If that is true then for myself I would have to come to the conclusion that we don't need it.  Scientists have been incorrect about a great many things before.  They could most likely be incorrect about B12 as well.

I'm not at all concerned about any vitamin deficiency when it comes to vegetarianism or veganism.  The experts could debate that issue all they want.  Their extensive professional research and studies are irrelevant as far as I'm concerned.  The important thing for myself is the preservation and value of life.  My main reason for going vegan is out of pure unconditional Love for all life which includes all animal life, and I am very anxious to get started.  Of course I will be maintaining optimal health for myself by going raw, so I will no longer eat cooked foods either.  Changing my lifestyle to that of a raw vegan is quickly becoming an exciting and interesting challenge.  grin

You are very correct about this. Scientist are wrong, ALOT! I guess our Vegan Spiritual leader doesn't even have any Nerve Tissue! I have even met a kid online who claim to be Vegan his entire live because meat and dairy made him sick.

From the top of my head B12 is ESSENTIAL and the best source comes from yiest. Eat your bread!! Hmm I think bamboo shoots contain a small amount.
To keep in mind thou B12 is absorbed in the intestinal tract via 2 factors: 1 - calcium and 2 - an intrinsic factor in the stomach
You can buy dried yeast from health food stores, in flakes and it can be sprinkled on salads. Better yet eat your bread as jesus said Wink.

Hi Julia and Laura

Laura B12 is found in bread? Any kind of bread as long as I eat bread? I don't eat bread that has whey or any kind of dairy products in it. That is what I look for when buying bread. If the ingredient list is long I also don't eat it.

You mean on what I eat yes?

Hi Everyone!

This is what the Vegetarian Resource Group (VRG) has to say about Vitamin B12.

That's very good resource Louis about yeast.
B12 is needed for DNA and RNA synthesis Smiley
On average you would need 2-2.2 micrograms per day. It is a small amount indeed. In the old days when people didn't had so much sterilised and X-rayed food it would have easily come just from vegetables, fruits that in nature would be contaminated with yeast and bacteria.

And yes any bread that's made with raised dough would have as of my past knowledge, however I noticed that here in North America everything is fortified even bread the put B12 and other stuff. Wow I never realised. No wonder our bodies are so out of balance and there are so many metabolic diseases which appeared with the dawn of food industry.

anyway Smiley good night

Dear Louis

I will be honest and tell you that my natural tendency is to stay away from any cult. In many ways vegan(ism) and vegetarianism is becoming a cult because of the business industry.

The yeast that is sold in powders is dormant. The life force energy is not flowing in there... You might get B12 but keep in mind there are so many factors that are involved in proper nutrition - factors that we don't fully understand because most vital processes were studied in isolation. However it is all like a domino effect or in other words everything depends upon something else.

Yeast  needs water, sugar, air, some food substrate such as ground cereals and warm temperature to become active. Once it does it grows amazingly fast. And I have just described the recipe for bread. Good old traditional bread. I have this thing of staying away from any supplements. If you really want B12 go buy a loaf of brewers yeast that is fresh you know the one for bakery and just eat a chunk - see how you feel after. I remember eating it as a child, and I quite liked it.

However you have to keep in mind your body as a whole.

Everybody is different also. That's why I am with Julia when it comes to food, and about everything else: listen to your body... listen to the language of love... love your body... Love is a powerful word here because to some it may be synonym with indulgence, which is not... and is also not synonym with deprivation...

Your body knows better that anybody any health food advocate or expert in nutrition what it needs. By all means educate yourself in what is good for you!!! - honestly when I moved to this continent I was in shock at the eating habits of the North American people, and the high % of obesity. I would have never imagined that people can reach such mass.
My apparent overweight was a joke. In french culture you take the height of a person in m and cm. (the international system of measurements). So let's say Laura is 1.64 tall (1 meter and 64 centimeters) her ideal weight should be: 64-10 = 54 Kgms My whole adult life I was hoovering at 64 (I was fat according to frenchies!!)
Over here the ideal health scales are much more lenient - over here my weight versus height is perfect Wink (yeyyy..loll) - however how many are even inside of these scales?

I better stop here ..lol..

Anyway when it comes down to it we have to listen to our bodies - because what works for me might not work for you etc...

I also thought last night about this braetharian thing. To my knowledge there is no being in nature living as such. Also I have never heard about any master not eating. Food was not a focus in their lives and they could easily go without for lengthy times, but still they eat.

In this physical world everything is tomorrow's food.

I am not saying is impossible and that spirit can't raise you to that state. It all comes down to other far out stuff such as becoming a being of light etc. When and where are we supposed to leave behind the physical form?

Hi Wave ~

I think we are everything just depends on the way it is expressed. Vegetarian would best describe me but I love raw food as well. I play with my children with it. You can make music while eating crunchy foods. Julia being Pippi here. Meat? Whether or not on ones plate we have all been predators in anothers life. Our thoughts will attest to this. So I ask then what does it mean that 'Man looks on the outer appearances but God looks at the Inner Being? Maybe there is room to grow in how we are 'seeing' the picture. rolleyes wink cool

Maybe with this understanding we can leave one another alone to be God expressing as... whatever we do on the outside.

Just asking...

Laura ~ Namaste my Sister, thank you for sharing here. It is funny these statistics and scales!! God!! This creates alot of 'food' related obsessions and dis-eases. Bulimina, anorexic obesity and so on. Wow!! Just be yourself. Why do we want a bunch of people who look exactly alike? BORING!! Like the earth has one tree, just one, one bush, one flower and on and on it goes. Relax and InJoy this life experience and I for one in agreement with Laura say, this is what will change the Vibration of this planet's current Energy. You know keep your hands to yourself!! wink

I appreciate you Laura and All ~

Love in Divine Spirit,

Julia

I have Silk now. Its Vegan and is fortified with B12. A Vegan friend of mine said that B12 is on our fruit and veggies as long as we don't wash it all the way off we get it.

Their are people in the world who claim to be Breatharian. Why can't they be? Because we need to eat water soluble vitamins everyday? Because we need protein in the form of essential amino acids? Because we need heavy metals like iron and calcium? Then how do people go 40 days without eating?! Jesus, moses, Siddhartha all fasted for 40 days. People have also went on to fast for 60 days! So it is said.

Whether or not on ones plate we have all been predators in anothers life. Our thoughts will attest to this.

What kind of thoughts do you have?!

Smiley hey love as I said whatever goes along with your body. Any soy milk makes me have violent stomach pain. Same goes for everything from bean family if they are cooked - seeds that are fully riped. You know the dried ones. Last time I had beans (and i love the taste...lol..) I thought I am going to die. Same goes for any cooked cabbage family. I.e. cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower... However I am fine with them raw or in stir fry, like Teriyakis. And actually that's the only way I can tolerate vegetables - if they are stir fried at most but still in live state. I like the soy beans slightly steamed.

Please wash your fruits and veggies!! What your friend said is correct if you pick them from your garden or at a farm. However!! by the time they get to you you have no idea through which hands they passed and if those hands were washed after err... if you get my drift!!! Recently we've seen a lost of salmonella outbreaks from contaminated salads, strawberries and etc!! Wash your raws quite thoroughly. Please!!! Let them soak in the water basin then rinse in a strainer.

Their are people in the world who claim to be Breatharian. Why can't they be? Because we need to eat water soluble vitamins everyday? Because we need protein in the form of essential amino acids? Okay. My sensible advise is this. Get a hold of one of those, be with them and make sure they are what they speak they are then learn how to do it properly.

I come from a family of weird stories. And one uncle went into a 'prayer seclusion' for a month time in which he ate only a quarter of a bread and drank 1/4 of a jug of water. However my understanding is that he was all that time into a meditative trance. I read a lot about Tibetan monks that do the same. So.. as I said nothing is to far off for humans. Just I guess "you have to know what you are doing". !!

Hello Laura!

I have Silk now. Its Vegan and is fortified with B12. A Vegan friend of mine said that B12 is on our fruit and veggies as long as we don't wash it all the way off we get it.[/color]

Smiley hey love as I said whatever goes along with your body. Any soy milk makes me have violent stomach pain. Ouch, that sounds very limiting. How are you doing in your Vegan diet?! It sounds harder for you because I LOVE Vegetables! I digest them perfectly and anything with carbohydrates makes me feel amazing! Make sure you use the internet to check what is in breads, dressings, grease ect. of your food places when you go out to eat. I remember the first time I was on a vegan diet I ate Subway a lot. I ate there dressing that has dairy in it so I failed all along and didn't even know it! I shall be posting a link to the VRG very soon to help Vegans avoid animal products for good!

Please wash your fruits and veggies!! What your friend said is correct if you pick them from your garden or at a farm. Yeah he says when he picks them himself he doesn't wash them. I rise them off but is our water really cleaner then the Veggies? Water is fluorindated after all.

I come from a family of weird stories. And one uncle went into a 'prayer seclusion' for a month time in which he ate only a quarter of a bread and drank 1/4 of a jug of water. Well there are exercises you have to do to manifest the frequencies of the nutrients. Meditation, Prayer and Yoga are needed to be Breatharian. One also needs to be in a divine frequency like Christ consciousness and compassion is a must also. Compassion is no doubt what everyone inspiring to be breatharian already has. As Vegans I know compassion pushes us to this kind of discipline.

Anyway I love you Laura, Melody my Vegan sisters and Julia my other godly sister!

Hi Laura,

I would just like to remind you of  what u said earlier  "" I also thought last night about this braetharian thing. To my knowledge there is no being in nature living as such. Also I have never heard about any master not eating.""
I did put an interesting link about a man in india about living on prana , about a page ago, here. Perhaps you missed it. Whether you believe it or not, it is really interesting.
It is still worth a read, and i would love your views.  Here it is again...
