New Hollywood movie regarding 2012 scheduled to be release summer 2009 starring John Cusack, Amanda Peet, Danny Glover, Thandie Newton, Oliver Platt, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Woody Harrelson.
Apparently this trailer has been out for a while. I wasn't aware of this movie until today - probably due to being drowned out among all the increasingly growing 2012 discussions throughout the Internet. Of course, as to be expected, the movie will be focusing on yet another doomsday type scenario - ad infinitum. If they didn't they would probably not make as much money given the demand from the majority of people who have historically desired to see these types of movies.
I have been wondering for quite a while when Hollywood would finally jump on the 2012 band wagon.
Hollywood has always made doomsday type movies. It was only a matter of time before they started making box office movies regarding the popular 2012 date. If this movie becomes a box office hit it'll be interesting to see how many more 2012 Hollywood movies follow if any at all. Given that this is the first time a movie focusing on 2012 hits the big screen with big name actors it will probably do quite well. I will probably go see the movie myself out of curiosity. Other than the apparent massive flood they portray in the trailer I would like to see if they give any other interpretations for the 2012 event, and if they try to link the event with "Mayan prophesies".
It is possible that any further movies that follow this one - focusing on a doomsday type scenario will potentially fail, or not do as well as intended at the box office as people all over the world are increasingly changing their attitudes and their ways of thinking. From my perspective more people everyday are getting tired of all the negativity, and they are refusing to focus on it any longer. Instead they are rather focusing more of their energy towards positive changes, and are realizing that by doing so brings more peace and happiness to their lives. The Internet has definitely been a major factor in increasing this change in attitude towards a more positive and peaceful reality.
