2012 movie commotion

Hi, everyone!

I felt the need to start this "new" topic and to share my concern with you as I came across this website (actually the first when you google 2012) and it hit me how this film

could (and it probably will) make such a commotion in the world viewed as spreading fear about what will happen to humanity!!!

I was even more astonished when I saw on this website a link to "Institute for Human Continuity" and what I saw on this website! This is too much, I must say!

I must also share with you what happened to me when I came across this website.
Since this was the first time after a few months when my search for spiritual awakening has begun (not too long, I know) I let something so negative affect me and bring this scintilla of doubt that something wrong could actually happen, for two days that the thoughts of such a possibility of the doom`s day were going through my head I also experienced physical inconvenience which was rather painful...
I didn`t know why this happened after so many years that this physical inconvenience did not bother me and why now when I actually started to feel that we are one, that everything is going to be all right and my trying to share this love with people around me...And after two days it hit me! I realized that this was happenning because I "tried" to ignore my intuition, my Higher Self which knows that everything IS all right and that my being has taken the path of the ultimate truth...I just let this truth calm me...just believed that health is my natural condition...and it didn`t feel right for me to take any medicine...I just knew it and felt it.... AND THE PAIN WAS GONE...it felt wonderful again to know that there is no room for any doubt whatsoever....

Yet, I`m concerned about these millions of people who could become scared after viewing this film! Or..., this actually comes to my mind as I write these words, will these millions actually begin this wonderful journey with all of us as they will start searching the internet and "discover" that there is nothing they should fear and that they just have to silence their minds and feel this love and let it take them back to where they belong...to our Divine Creator...

I would appreciate if you had any comments on this or any idea how this (maybe even short lasting) possible fear could be overturned and how all of us could do something to help our brothers and sisters....

Hi Lydia,

Any "doomsday" type event similar to what will be portrayed in the movie can be prevented.  2012 is really nothing more than just a number, and whatever event should happen to take place on and around that date is completely dependent upon the collective consciousness.  It just depends on what we as a collective choose to experience.  Not only is there conflict going on all around the globe concerning many different situations, but there is a lot of conflict taking place within a great many people.  Actually, everything you see taking place around the globe is a reflection of what is taking place within each of us.  As more and more people across the planet begin to focus on peace and happiness rather than conflict and negativity, then peace is what we will experience globally.  From what I have been observing this is exactly what is taking place.  More and more people everyday are focusing more on positive things, and are taking more time to help others unconditionally.  Plain and simply people, I feel, are just getting tired of all the negativity.

Also, it might be comforting to keep in mind that even if such a catastrophic event were to happen on any date life goes on whether we want it to or not.  There is no such thing as death.  Yes, the experience is real enough, but that's all it is - just experience.  Death in itself is just an illusion.  "Death" is nothing more than a label to an event each individual experiences at a personal level upon transitioning to the inner realms.  Actually life in the physical can seem more like death compared to life within the inner realms.  It's understandable however why people fear the transition known as "death", mostly because of the perceived trauma and horrific experience that accompanies it.  There would be no fear of transitioning at all with the full realization what Is.  The experience known as "death" is a very short event compared to the very long and wonderfully amazing journey ahead of us.  Basically there is no such thing as an "afterlife".  There is only life, which never ends...ever.

I feel it is highly unlikely that any such catastrophic event of biblical proportions will occur.  Instead I feel we are on the verge of making our next leap in evolution, and that there will finally be world peace.  But again, that is up to us.  If we as a global society are to experience a world of peace and happiness then that is where we need to maintain our constant focus and that is what we need express Now.  Some of you can probably tell what I'm going to say next, but I'm going to say it anyway, hehe  .  In the now famous words of Ghandi, "Be the change you want to see in the world."

Hehe, yeah I saw those links as well.  Wow, Oliver Platt is really getting old.  Remember him from the movie Flatliners?  It's kind of interesting how the website is marketing the movie with the two links on their website.  Apparently Woody Harrelson plays a comedic, wacky, sign holding, doom's dayer called Charlie Frost in the movie.  He is even on twitter: http://twitter.com/CharlieFrost.    Have you watched any of his videos on ThisIsTheEnd.com?  They're pretty funny and entertaining.  Oliver Platt plays a character named Carl Anheuser, who is the White House Chief of Staff.

I would like to see more previews to the movie.  It's hard to tell at this point whether the movie will be a hit at the box office or not as there have been so many doomsday movies.  From what I understand John Cusack plays the role of a father who tries to save his children from the upcoming flood.  I'm not sure who Danny Glover's character is or what role he plays.

Yes, I think so, and I feel that it is happening already.

Actually I think the majority has become so desensitized by so many doomsday movies that they may not be affected by the movie other than for just pure entertainment.  But who knows what kind of interest the movie could spark in people.  Actually movies are also a reflection of ourselves as well.  Movies also most often contain very enlightening information if watched with an awareness.

What a great example of thoughts become things!! And I appreciate how you share that immediately you 'corrected' an 'erroneous' thought with a truthful affirmation by focusing and following through on your Higher Self 'speaking' and choosing to over ride the outer thoughts of what you were momentarily identifying with in the moment.

Your desire to share this with 'others' is understandably shared with Like Minded Ones. Like the ripple in the pond. We make an impact where we are in this moment even if we don't see the evidence of this immediately. Our Energy vibration is flowing out and returning into us over and over again. I agree with Kailaurius, in Being the change you wish to see, you will see the change because it is you who have changed. It only takes a spark to get a fire going!

Producers of movies, even documentaries have ratings in mind, and they tend to play to current beliefs and trends, makes sense in order to get it on TV in the first place. That being said, No-one can say what will happen, nor do the prophecies predict the worlds end. Just the end of times, as it is, the end of one epoch and the beginning of another.
As we near the actual date marketers will be selling fear by the truckload, and people will be buying by the dumpster full which is where it all should go to begin with. The movie will do well I am certain, if for no other reason, people love being scared. But there is little evidence scientifically or prophetically that we have the end to fear.

Sad truth is, if the Mayan prophecies were ones of great prosperity, wondrous changes and the best of  Human evolvement, would we see this thread, the movie, or all the other 2012 interest?
No - it is the same old same old, repent, we are doomed because we are such a horrible race of organisms in the Universe. On and on it goes. It is a sickness in our collective psyche.
As Julia said, thoughts become things - and those things the world must deal with. The term evil created those that act in an evil manner to combat its true creators, as the world has to evolve around those playing the good vs evil game.

What will happen will happen and we will do what Human Beings do best, we will awaken the next day and create a life where there once was none. We will apply genius to the mundane and transform life to its best possible outcome - we be Human Beings evolving and push ever forward into the future. We will be alive long into the populating of the Universe until Earth is but a myth of the original home of the Living God.

Dear Lydia and All,



If I want to be honest yes there was a time when 2012 and related were very 'interesting'. Is that 'something' shall happen? well spiritual revelations aside all signs indicate we are approaching some sort of major change.... 
Looks as time between 'cause' and 'effect' is getting dramatically short.
Cause being 'thought' and 'effect' is what we see as the translation/correspondence or manifestation of that thought in physical. Every day the progression of technology is simply brain blowing. As a matter of fact things are speeding up so fast we hardly have time to even become aware or reflect a lot about what type of thoughts we are thinking.

From what we learned from Adrian and elsewhere in higher realms of vibrations thoughts are materialised so to speak instantly. Our times speeding up so fast come to resemble more and more the situation we shall eventually be facing ... hence the benefit of preparing for that as much and as diligently as possible. In other words think happy thoughts no matter what!!

...so keeping all this in mind as far as I'm concerned everything 2012 related fades as a physical landmark (whatever shall be shall be..) ..and for me represents a reminder of the spiritual stuff I need to perfect... getting read of those remnants of 'not so happy, compassionate, loving, tolerant and bla bla reactive patterns of thinking. 

I personally think that should be everyone's major concern right now.

So i saw the movie yesterday and it was awesome! the graphics were really, really good. 
It had a happy ending because humans survived and came together; there was no sight of separation!
Dude if this is what 2012 will be like, then i can't wait! I mean sure "people" will die; but we are all illusions--our bodies.

The Essence in us--which is US--will never be destroyed because it was never created. Neither was this world/earth for that matter--nor our bodies.
WE just think we exist as physical, solid bodies.

So as i was watching the movie i thought about this and i think whatever happens, will happen for good. I mean no "thing" can be lost b/c in reality no "thing" exists.

Yeah, I saw the movie myself, and I enjoyed it.  I loved the messages and symbolism throughout the movie.  I liked the overall message of the movie.  I enjoyed the speech made toward the end of the movie by the geologist played by Chiwetel Ejiofor.  I find it interesting how Hollywood throws in pearls of wisdom in their movies.  The last lesson the Buddhist monk gave to his student was very enlightening.  It's a lesson I've been practicing the last 5 years, so I enjoyed that scene.  I'm not going to give any spoilers away, so I won't say what the scene was about.  Charlie Frost played by Woody Harrelson was entertaining.  I enjoyed his character.

Hi, everyone!

I`ve started the topic and then "disappeared"!  Well, I`ve been here, there, everywhere....
But to get back to it again - I`ve seen the movie two weeks ago and besides the visual effects, I must say that it didn`t move me at all...I left the cinema without a single thought in my head trying to tag what I saw as either good or bad...I was just deflated like a baloon as the feeling was that something`s missing....Actually, I didn`t get the feeling of joy of the people in the end staying together. It was more like the same old pattern repeated - people desperately trying to save their lives and the lives of the loved ones, and the global action to "preserve" the humankind and our legacy under false pretence of preserving the animals by putting everyone together in the "modern" Noah`s arks... No true feeling of people caring for each other... And what I disliked most was the same old Hollywood glowing and applauding in the end as if "our boys have won!"
Well, that`s my experience, but I`m aware that this was not the intention of the movie anayway. I`ve read somewhere that the director just used the date as being suitable for the kind of movies he makes!
A few days later I was at a party where people were discussing the movie and I was surprised that most of them thought this was just the invented story and just another fatalistic Hollywood movie with good visuial effects, while others were disappointed and said that the only sentence they liked was when the Russian businessman said in English (with a heavy Russian accent) : "Start the engine!" 
And the last thing I`ll say about the movie is the director`s failure to provide a Russian actor or at least a good translation as the Russian leader said one sentence in perfect Serbian language!

I think that the "real thing" is yet to come next year, and I`m looking forward to see it as this will be a docudrama featuring Grandfather Cirilo who is regarded as the Voice of the Jungle and the Messenger of the Maya.
